When the SEC expanded in 1992 and went to divisional play, each team played the other teams in their division (at that time 5), TWO "permanent" teams from the other division and then one more "rotating" team from the other division. From 1992 through 2001 our permanent Eastern teams were Florida and Kentucky.
Starting with the 2002 season the SEC changed formats and teams would only have one permanent team from another division and two rotating teams.This made it challenging for the conference to ensure each team had 4 home games and 4 road games so there was a lot of patch-up work. Kentucky was one of our "rotating teams" in 2002, along with South Carolina. Incidentally, due to the same situation Ole Miss came to Baton Rouge in 2002 after playing in Tiger Stadium in 2001 as well.

Why did LSU play @ UK 2 years in a row? I just read that article and I don't remember playing them there 2 years in a row or why. I just googled it and sure enough did.

I remember that game. I was angry LSU was fixing to lose but only stayed to watch the fans take down the goal post. I just smiled when the play happened

Did they re-do the radio call to take out the 'Jack Hunt' portion? I know no one wants to say the wrong name but damn, it just doesn't have the same ring to it anymore.

I watched at a sports bar. Left when UK took the lead with 11 seconds left. Got a call in the car; my wife said, "Can you believe it?"
