The 150th anniversary celebration of college football means hundreds of lists, rankings and countdowns.
On last night’s ESPN SportsCenter top 10, that countdown focused upon the greatest Hail Mary plays in the history of college football.
From Ben Roethlisberger to Doug Flutie to Brett Favre, there were many worthy candidates. The No. 1 spot, however, goes to LSU and the Bluegrass Miracle against Kentucky.

Still the GOAT winning celebration pic.

Great play, but why did we play them in Kentucky back to back?

Isn't the story of that pic that right after it was taken, dude was taken out by a Kentucky frat boy?

I like the recognition, but this isn't the best Hail Mary of all time. IMO, that goes to Flutie's Hail Mary in 1984. It beat a ranked Miami team and essentially secured the Heisman Trophy for Flutie. Plus, it was seen by a huge TV audience the day after Thanksgiving. The Bluegrass Miracle occurred during a relatively non-descript "JP game" vs. a relatively average UK team.

Wow. i thought Flutie would've won it for sure.

No doubt that play was unbelievable, but what gets lost is we went something like 90 yards in two plays. The two play drive was well orchestrated and executed.
Now the big play was a one in a thousand, but my point was we didn’t panic and everyone did what they were suppose to do which gave us a chance to win.

Anyone have the pic of the cow guy getting smashed right after that pic was taken

The cow suit photo is my favorite thing right now.

but why did we play them in Kentucky back to back?
that was the last year of the 2 permanent cross division rivals.
the following year we went to 1 permanent and 2 rotating.
we played Ole Miss at home back to back and Kentucky on the road back to back.
for everyone’s schedules to fall 4 home 4away with me format, some of the home/aways had to be adjusted in ‘02

That guy HAS to be a poster on here.

The cow guy posted about this maybe a year ago. I'm sure he'll come along with the details.
