SEC Network told the Rant Vitello was awesome and they think it’s a hire an “insider fan” would push for so it’s being repeated.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, but I think we can safely disregard the Florida fans who claim the guy will stay in Gainesville because the “facility’s” are better.

It’s not that O’Sullivan would be bad or that he couldn’t recruit, just that it’s more of an unknown than a lot of people want to admit.

He just won the East. At Tennessee. They have Vandy and Florida.
I like that he was a key assistant to those great TCU teams. He also coaches under Van Horn.
I really like his background and age. He continues to impress. He is doing well in the SEC tournament. They should have won the game yesterday.
I think he is a winner and could recruit very well at LSU.

Wouldn’t you like to have a little more data about Vitello before giving him the keys to the castle? We have no way of knowing what he is yet and fans aren’t just crowning him, they’re pushing out guys we know can win to do it.

Orgeron was a lazy hire. OSullivan has won more than any other coach in the toughest conference. Nothing lazy there.

The only concern about Vitello is that he might jump ship for Arkansas when Van Horn has had enough.

ETA: If you want more experience then McDonnell is more of a sure thing than O’Sullivan imo.

How does Vitello have more upside lol. One has shown he can win it all and the other hasn’t even shown he can win the conference title.
