0 substance? He made forcible contact to the head, neck and shoulder region. Period. It was the right call based on an extremely flawed rule. It has nothing to do with the helmets. He hits him high on the shoulders which are considered part of the head/neck area by this rule.
It sucks and I hate the rule. I hate even more the second half timing equals suspension for a half in the following game.
Finally, name one unit outside of Kicker and secondary that LSU is better than Bama. As an entire unite not 1 or two players.
In both of those cases, Bama is not far behind, it is massively ahead in most other units including every single one on offense outside of WR.

Head and neck isn’t shoulders, by your logic chest is shoulders, and stomach is chest, where does it end?

Quit waffling.
There was no forcible contact to the head.
He led with hands outstretched and was carried into the QBs body by that action.
If you can’t see that in a plethora of replays then you’re either blind or blind drunk.
Oh and quit trying to explain why we can’t win with or without 40.
SMH.

What about the hit on the TN QB by BAMA? Look at that hit & tell me it’s not targeting.
I guess we should forfeit the BAMA game? Why play it?

Go home you bama traitor. No way in hell that was a target hit. SEC office does EVERYTHING for bama!

The rule doesn’t require you to use the helmet. The rule says any forceable contact to the head, neck or shoulder area, which White did.
The rule says nothing about the “shoulder area”.

Geauxgurt has a huge gap between his legs.

Defense! LSU is better on defense!

The facts are that by the letter of the law of targeting, White was responsible for it and its all on him.
Please show me which letters in the rule state that you cannot use your hands to touch the chest plate of the QB’s shoulders pads.
That was absolutely not targeting.

Maybe it is the right call, but I would like to get an answer on how the hit the Bama player put on the UT player was not called targeting, and White’s hit was called targeting. Similar hits and one could argue the Bama hit was more violent and more egregious. Second, I would like to know if this call made by the replay official at the game or is it made in Birmingham?

Maybe you're married, maybe not. If you are, your wife owns you. Any woman you know owns you. That's okay. You can't help it if you're not a man. It's...well....who you are.

It's a shitty rule, but while I bitch about it being called, it isn't a shocker. It does sort of fit the description of the rule, and I can see it being called and upheld.
The silly thing about it is, there's no context or intent involved, at all.
Fitzgerald sucked bigtime as a passer, but had run for over 100 yds on a ton of delayed draws and run-pass options. When he gets moving, he's a bitch to bring down. It makes 100% sense that when he drops back, you rush him and force him to pass, and hit him hard when you can. If you don't, he's going to run the ball for 5, 10, maybe 15 yds.
At least on a positive note, while White is a major piece of the defense, he's not as vital against the pass as some others are. Losing Delpit or Greedy would have been worse, arguably losing Fulton would have too.
