The thing is there’s no separate boosters for basketball. Any money we put towards basketball is money we can’t put towards football. $10 million down the drain. We also won’t be shopping in the good coach aisle even if we make a change. It would inject some excitement but chances are even if we make a change we aren’t getting a great coach. Wade was an outlier hire.

College baseball is not a “major sport.”

So what do you suggest? Have the program regress even further while everyone else gets better?

Or was last night acceptable to you? You gotta spend money to make money.

Why do you idiots say things like it’s a fact when you have no clue what you’re talking about??
Basketball 100% has boosters that give to basketball only. A few big ones too

Arkansas: $10 million +
Missouri: $10 million +
Tennessee: $10 million +

Texas: $10 million +
Georgia: $8-10 million
LSU: $8-10 million
Mississippi State: $8-10 million
Alabama: $8-10 million
Ole Miss: $8-10 million
Oklahoma: $6.5 million
South Carolina: $5.5 million

Hate to break it to ya, but college baseball is no where near a major sport as it pertains to the NCAA. Go ahead and respond with some of you Gomer logic. I've got the response already typed out.

LSU is clearly not serious about men’s college basketball, and rarely has been. Sure we’ve had occasional success, but those few instances were, more times than not, a result of the occasional generational type players deciding to come to Baton Rouge.

It would take a blind man to not see that the decision makers/boosters just don’t have the appetite to throw enough money at a shitty sport/program to make it relevant. I applaud them, since I’d rather see that money go to other sports. College basketball has, over the decades, become a terrible institution. The only thing I dislike more is the NBA, and maybe soccer.

College baseball IS a major sport, DUMBASS! Oh, let me guess...they just have more competitions than ANY other college sport because it is a minor sport, huh? Why don't you just return to your mother's basement and not post here until you can post something coherent!

College baseball IS a major sport. And IF you want to talk about minor sports, we can start with LSU basketball. Which reminds me...which sport draws better attendance at LSU...LSU baseball or LSU basketball? OK, that isn't fair since LSU gymnastics has better attendance at home than LSU basketball.

BTW, for comparison, if you think I'm "Gomer"...you are Goober! [mic drop]

It's not. LSU baseball is really good and we all love it for that reason. But on the whole, it's not a major sport...or anywhere close. If nothing else, the TV money reflects that. ESPN pays $115M annually for the right to broadcast multiple NCAA championship events (not football or men's basketball). Included within that is the CWS.

Turner/CBS pays over $1 BILLION annually to broadcast just the NCAA basketball tournament

On total season attendance it will always be baseball...if for no other reason than there are 2x as many home baseball games as there are basketball. On a per game average, it is probably still baseball.

However, from a ticket revenue perspective LSU baseball averaged less per game than basketball.

In 2024 LSU baseball (as the reigning national champion) reported $3.5M in ticket revenue. Divide that by 36 home games and the revenue averages $97,222 per game.

In that same year LSU basketball (coming off a losing season and one of the worst SEC records in school history) reported $2.1M in ticket revenue. Divide that by 18 home games and the revenue averages $116,666 per game.

College baseball IS a major sport. 360 division 1 colleges play basketball...300 play baseball. Not a lot of difference so I guess colleges disagree with you.

You mentioned ticket revenue. What you didn't mention were butts in the seats. As I stated in a post, recently the box score of an LSU home game had 7800 listed as the attendance which means those were tickets sold. I believe that was the Georgia game. At the Arkansas game, someone said there MIGHT have been 2000...I say not even 400. I bet the Georgia game was nowhere near 7800 "shows".

I will repeat the fact that 360 division 1 teams play basketball and 300 division 1 teams play baseball. Not a lot of difference. Baseball is a major sport in college. For a contrast due to limited amount of teams fielded, college hockey is not...college lacrosse is not...college swimming is not, etc.

Major sports are MAJOR PARTICIPATION. Football is one...basketball is one...baseball is another.

Major sports, make major money and have major tv contracts. College baseball is not a major sport.

331 division 1 schools have cross-country track, so by your dumbass logic cross country is a major sport.
