Is this year's team more or less talented than last year's team?

We are picked to finish 5th but I don't feel like there's been a dramatic drop-off in talent from last year when we finished 3rd at 6-2 in conference.

All sunshine pumping now but once the season starts some deffieciency will be found and 0 will exploit it as an excuse to buy another year. A la “we just don’t have a the horses in the trenches” excuse from last year. It’ll never end

QB - more
RB - less
OL - more at Tackle, better depth, same at guard
WR - more
TE - more

DL - more
LB - more
CB - same without Fulton, less depth
more with Fulton
S - more - return everyone, most stacked positon on the team

Less experience but about equal talent, maybe more.

But talent isn't everything, experience is a big part. And the reason were getting no love.

D-line issues DID cost us Miss State and Troy. We just didn’t have enough bodies once there were injuries and players ejected for BS calls.

Is what it is and I expect that to be corrected.

Overall, imho, we are better overall.

Obviously less talent and exp at RB.

In order for us to be successful on offense we need to be balanced.

If we can’t effectively run the ball we go from being predictable as a run first team to a predictable pass first team.

On D. I’m more worried about CB than many here. It’s not just who plays opposite Greedy, but if opposing OC’s see a weakness they can go 3/4 wide, put RB’s in tough to cover routes, use the TE etc.

Front 7 looks great on paper. But if we must match 3/4 wide sets and pull strong front 7 personnel to play weaker secondary players, the D could suffer.

Ahh the vaunted offensive lines of state and Troy (sun belt bottom dweller) took us down

State's offensive line was pretty good. They whipped Alabama's front 7 also

Troy won the Sun Belt and has never been a SB bottom dweller

We literally didn't have enough DL to make a 2 deep in those games and we were missing our best 2

Dont forget FG kicking. Even with our "depth" issues, a competent kicker could have helped us not only beat Troy, but ND as well. Looking back, LSU could have been, with everything the same, an 11 win team with some of those very short FG's made.

That's already started with his "be patient" comment. I've seen plenty of O pumpers state its a rehab project, not a full rebuild but plenty of problems that needed to be fixed an will take time.

Sorry, but I'm not going to be Patient. I was against his hire, but want nothing but success for LSU. I'm not for firing him at the end of the season if its a bad year, he has this year and next (3 full years). I WILL NOT move the goal post or lower the standards for him. Either put up or shut up. No excuses, GO WIN!

And Coaching from the top. O ranked in the very bottom of SEC Coaches. Instead of a Jimbo ranked 2nd, LSU went to the bottom of the barrel per the "experts".
