Pretty sickening that this year's team will probably finish with same number of SEC wins as that 2014 team - when this year's team has way more talent than 2014 roster.

Jay was the high coach of Muncie Central High School that lost to Milan High School in the 1954 Indian state championship game, from which you get the movie Hoosiers.
Milan 32, Muncie Central 30
Tied 26–26 in a defensive battle with heavily favored perennial power Muncie Central after three quarters, Plump, who had uncharacteristically shot only 2-for-10 from the field at that point, froze the ball unchallenged for over four minutes during the fourth quarter. Tied at 30, Plump hit a 14-footer from the right side as time expired to seal the win in a low-scoring defensive battle, denying the Bearcats a fifth state title.

Johnny Jones last season was awful

Unfortunately this might not even be in the top 5 of worst teams we have had in the 2000's. Every coach except Wade had at least a couple of terrible teams. This team is bad and most of its players are not SEC caliber, but there were teams with coaches that had been here multiple years that were worse than this one. MM had to completely put a team together with the cloud of probation hanging over it.
If he can keep a handful of players and hit the portal hard, we should be greatly improved next year. For a player that want to play immediately against top competition, we are a good place to go.

Remember early in the season when we racked up all those wins & then beat Arky? Everyone was excited, believed we were going places! Now that seems so long ago, like a different team or season, yet one in the same. So at first I was going to say maybe the last pre-Pete season, but the way this current team has nose-dived, this is truly the worst, no comparison! They are not just losing, but being whipped by a lot of bad or borderline average teams! If this team starts slow next season and continues to appear unmotivated, a change as to be made...

Well, from a conference win/loss metric, this season appears fated to match the last Jones conference record of 2-17. The only difference is the Jones got the axe immediately after losing its first SEC tourney game v Miss State that year.

You're off by a year. The 10-21 season was the year AFTER Simmons

Would be +8 against this season’s team and end up winning by double digits

Wrong. Simmons was long gone.
Craig Victor was the salvation of Jones' last team, but he too left before conference play began that year.
