Brennan needs to get plenty of PT this year because he is the future. Also get a better assessment of his mental game under live game pressure because touch football leaves some questions still unanswered.

Brennan needs to get some real playing time so we can see if he’s the future QB or backup again next year. He’s not passing up JB

The only possibility of a controversy will be whether Brennan is good enough to get meaningful playing time, or whether he only gets mop-up duty.
I hope that Brennan is good enough that he can get a first-half series in SEC games, but I don't see that as likely.

Haha, yeah, in a game when QB's have no threat of being hit. I think Brennan will be good by the time it's his time to play, but Burrow is only the 2nd LSU QB to lead his team to 10 wins in his first year and posted the 2nd most total yards in LSU history last year while leading LSU to huge wins at Auburn, against #2 UGA and in the Fiesta Bowl after he got knocked out on a cheap play.

Brennan looked fine but all he did was reassure LSU fans that if Burrow were to go down there's a chance our offense could still operate better than in years past. That's it. Burrow is a proven commodity and the leader of this team.

I’m assuming you mean ‘first year’ on the team as opposed to ‘first year’ starter?
Flynn, Mett, and Burrow all led LSU to 10 wins as a first year starter, and I didn’t go back and look at 10 win seasons before Saban.
