Just going to add more competition for us with portal players. Just based off last year. They basically got whoever they wanted out of there.

Until Saban retires, they will be in the hunt for a national championship every year. Every year they don’t win it all, this question is asked and they haven’t gone anywhere. They’ve missed the playoffs 2x in the past 9 years.

And may God have mercy on whoever is hired to take over for Nick Saban at Alabama. They will be calling for him to be drawn and quartered after going 9-3

they have one title and that was in a COVID year which doesn’t really count.

Right because if lsu won the title in a Covid year you would be saying the same thing

They have slipped some, but they were not far from the playoffs this year so they are still dangerous.

Just the facts:
1. Need a new starting QB
2. Need a new EVERYTHING RB (and return specialist)
3. Don't have any WR's that teams truly account for, and will be hard to draw them without knowing WHO is going to throw them the ball.
3. Quite a few big names, at every level, will be gone from the D too.

Yes they have a star-talented roster (of unproven players), but others in the SEC have closed the gap with the portal, NIL and their own recruiting. Will be interesting....

They lost 2 games by a total of 4 points, both on the road in conference & both on the last play of the game. I would not get my hopes up.

They have the number 1 recruiting class in the country. They still have some gas left in the tank.

Does is really matter? Bama has won natty's with much worse QB's.

They had much more WR and O-line talent then though. They still obviously have talent, but the don't have those experienced studs stacked 3 deep like that once had.

I’m not predicting an end of the Saban dynasty there, yet, but everybody knows Saban has a difficult personality and pisses people off.

What most don’t remember is that at the time he left LSU, some players here were in a little rebellion against him. I don’t remember which one snapped at him after the Cap One bowl loss (“You’re not my coach” or something like that).

The transfer portal means kids aren’t stuck with Saban if they hate him. And Saban doesn’t get to use the offseason as a cooling off period for players who hate him.

They have the #1 recruiting class again so....

As anyone outside Tuscaloosa knows, þhey could have 6 commits and they would still have the #1 class. The services would just update and score each at 1609.2.

They are not going to be able to dominate the way they have in the past , IMHO . This will cause the rabid fan base to go psycho .
Hence , after St Nick leaves , a coaching
carousel ! Just my prediction . Now , honeys , please write this down and give Zippy credit !!

I think we will need to see how the next two years play out. Saban down years are most programs best years.
