I'm not saying he will be center. I'm just saying that if the coaches put him there, I trust their decision

The only thing I worry about is pad level at 6’7. Hopefully the big fella can get LOW!

Also, to the guy I read saying he needs to add “good weight”. He’s 305 lbs! Lol

Jason Kelce for the Eagles is 295 and the best center in the league!

Also, he’s here to play guard. End of story.

Turner or Martinez will be center.

He's not built like an SEC Guard. Looks like a OT, but i could see Center.

A two year Big 10 starter doesn’t come here to come off of the bench.

Word. Why would a starter transfer to ride the pine? Someone thinks he can start and he’s been told, I’d bet, that he’ll get a chance to start. Why else would he be here?

Can he beat out Dellinger or Frazier? Will be interesting to see. Iron sharpens iron.

he's packing his lunch pail as we speak, and we're adding a cot in the weight room because you just about can't get him out of there

Needs a few more pounds for the interior don’t you think?

Whether he starts or provides depth, I'm just excited about our o-line for the first time in a minute. Talented youth, quality experience, and finally building some depth. When is the last time we could check off all those boxes?

Exactly. we have 2 high profile returning starting tackles coming back. We also have one of the best tackle prospects we have ever had in Heard coming in. This dude from Maryland ain’t starting at tackle.

Whether a starter or backup, we were in bad need of quality O linemen. Last year, when any of our starters went out, it was a drastic decline. It's tough when you are depending on 5 guys to play the entire game.

305 lbs is a good weight for an IOL who is like 6-2 or so

305 at 6-7 is pretty light

It's not 1978 anymore

Can Jones play center if Heard is as ready to go as we're hearing? Campbell/Heard at tackles, Jones at center, and some combination of Dellinger/Frazier/Lunsford at the guards sounds pretty salty.

There will inevitably be injuries. If this guy doesn’t win a starting job, he could be the swing guy that could step in at all 5 spots if necessary. Huge pickup for depth.

Would you rantards quit saying he is a tackle. No offense to a couple of you folks touting “two year starter in the big 10”. Maryland is like Vandy in the SEC.

As for size he is fine especially if he nimble afoot, pull in a block and is strong. I can see him gaining 10-15# here. I’m glad he is lighter

If he was actually an overlooked quantity interior lineman in the Big 10 then his experience in practice with our D-L will make him better. If he has peaked his potential then he will be a great sub/bench player.

But after watching a little film this guy is a pretty good run blocker. Something we’ve been missing for a minute.

Campbell came in last spring at 6’6” 305lbs. In 3 months he was 325. Jones is 6’6” 335lbs. This guys looks heavier than both of em.
