That was one miserable day. I went to the LSU-Auburn game instead. I decide which Notre Dame games to attend by the weather forecast, which means I'm done with northern venues for the year.

People would like to see Bama get whipped, our offense is fun to watch, our coach is always entertaining.

I said something similar last year and got lambasted for saying so.

Don’t let the haters get you down...

LSU has been America’s team.

Win, lose or draw, some of the most exciting (fun) games to watch over the years.....

Nick Saban, Les Miles, Coach O

We’ve played Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Bama in Championship games...

I bet the majority of sports fans across the country were pulling for us.

I sat with 6 guys from Arizona last weekend. They came in for the Saints Cardinals game and was told they needed to see Tiger Stadium and what not. They said it was the best game they ever attended, and they all graduated from Arizona. They said nothing in the Pac-12 can touch this stadium!

However, I was at the ND vs UofM game on Sat. and went to several pre-game tailgates. They would NOT switch over from Michigan State vs Penn State to save their lives. They wanted to see Michigan State get bitch-slapped so bad they wouldn't even consider switching to the best game in the country on Sat. afternoon. Damn!

Well yeah, that's b/c you were at UofM tailgates. The level of hatred b/w them and Mich. St. is another level (I have friends that are Mich. St. alums). They both relish in watching the other one lose at anything. Hell, one year Mich. St. had an opportunity to win the Big 10 outright with a UofM win over OSU. I asked if he would actually be pulling for Michigan under this circumstance. Without hesitation he responded with, "Hell No!" That's how much they hate one another. They would sacrifice championships just to see the other team lose.

Barstool sports is very pro LSU. And they have a big audience

This was the point I was making, almost exactly.

Our (LSU’s) interaction with Barstool has brought eyes to LSU. I was up in Minneapolis wearing Tigers gear and had countless people comment on Coach O and the Tigers. I think it’s great for the brand.

If you were coming from some random place in America you’d probably have a lot more fun at an LSU game day than you would at bama, Clemson, osu, etc.

Bama/Saban is all business & "process". Players, Coaches are always on edge. Fellow teammates are having to constantly compete amongst one another. And even in victory - the team (players, coaches) & fans are having No Fun!

LSU is the opposite. Tiger Fans tailgate for even BASEBALL games, and Football tailgates begin Thursday evening for Saturday game! Colorful personalities & story lines, fabulous food, huge party atmosphere, incredibly fine/hot women, Epic "Roman Coliseum" type stadium & game day experience, beaucoup culture & history, etc. etc.

LSU is AMERICA'S DARLING TEAM!
win or lose vs Bama - LSU is Loved - Bama not so much

Are you claiming this isn't the way at LSU? You better hope you are wrong.

Coach O is not a cardboard cutout coach, he doesn't look, talk or think like anyone else and his enthusiasm is contagious. So America sees someone they can root for because he is so likable, Saban has the personality of a clenched fist, cheering for him is like cheering for your mean boss who hates Christmas.

The LSU uniforms are different, the Louisiana culture is different, America likes something that stands out. I was in Vermont a few weeks ago and saw LSU hats and shirts on sale.

Does that answer your question?

I’m working in New Hampshire and ran in to 3 LSU fans this week. None went to LSU - simply rooting for them because they became fans.

Comedian Bill Burr watches every single game and has been a fan on the program for quite some time. He talks about it on his podcast weekly
