DJ Lemahieu is not making the hall of fame, my man. No shot
He hasn’t had a HOF career. And Bregman has absolutely been better

However, DJ is the only player ever in the modern era to have a batting title in both the AL and NL. Baseball writers cream their pants over things like that He also has 3 gold gloves already. He wins something like a another batting title, a few more golf gloves, and the Yankees win rings again, I think he has a very outside chance at the HOF

The only thing Bregman has that is better than DJ is the World Series. And yes, DJ has been in the league longer but he also spent the majority of his career in a media black hole when he was in Denver. They had some ok seasons but never put it all together.

DJ:

3× All-Star (2015, 2017, 2019)
2× All-MLB First Team (2019, 2020)
3× Gold Glove Award (2014, 2017, 2018)
3x Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award (2013, 2017, 2018)
2× Silver Slugger Award (2019, 2020)
2× batting champion (2016, 2020)
Fielding Bible Award (2017)

Bregs:

2× All-Star (2018, 2019)
World Series champion (2017)
All-MLB Second Team (2019)
Silver Slugger Award (2019)

Was he some defensive wiz because his hitting numbers are very average.

Not best career, but Brian Wilson may have the highest peak. He was a huge star for a few years

God only knows, but you could be right.

Belle in the 90s was just ridiculous

'92 - '99 his average season was:
.302 / .382 / .587 ; 40 Bombs ; 125 RBI

Ken Griffey Jr over same stretch:
.299 / .384 / .602 ; 42 HR ; 114 RBI

Belle was a monster hitter. Dude had 8 consecutive seasons of 30+ HRs (including seasons of 50, 49 and 48 HR) and 9 consecutive seasons of 100+ RBI (led the league 3 times) and managed to hit .295 for his career. He had 23 HRs and 100+ RBI in his last season in the majors. He killed it even in his last year.

Had he stayed on his medication this guy would have been HOF no doubt.

There are very few right handed hitters in the history of the game with numbers like Belle.

his career was cut short due to his hip.
if you break down his numbers per Plate Appearance he's up there with the absolute best regardless of side of plate.

PA / RBI - he's 12th all time.
PA / HR - he's 10th all time.

It was more his hip injury, I think. He would have easily gotten to 500 home runs and been considered one of the best right-handed hitters of all time. But the corked bat incident combined with him being pretty universally hated by the media would have made it an interesting case. His peak was great enough to still be deserving, but him not reaching the counting stats gives the writers an easy excuse to keep him out.

Statistically not close…Albert Belle is the answer. 2A and 2B are Walker and LeMahieu with almost identical career stats. Then on pitching, Big Ben
