No locks. Every year each guy must earn their place and keep it by producing.
Nothing is given, everything earned.

Shores
Anderson
Herring (if he comes back - draft eligible)

I'm sure LSU will be looking at some arms in the portal though.

Also, I'll be interested to see how Noot looks as he's highly touted, plus I wonder what we end up potentially getting out of Cam Johnson. They don't come more highly touted than him, and he's clearly got good stuff.

I think those 5 are a really good start for next year + whatever we bring in.

a lefty with 2 good pitches can go a long way.

hopefully he ads a third.

Herring (barring a huge draft for him)
Shores
Anderson
Hopefully Johnson becomes an option
Hopefully Noot becomes an option
hopefully a transfer guy or 2

We thought Hurd was a lock. You never know.

I hope they bring in some studs from the transfer portal and I hope Shores and Noot show up next year.

I wouldn't say lock. He's got to become more consistent with his command. I would say it's his to take or lose though. It's on him and his progression.

Wow, I guess they did change the rules since it does appear like he is eligible after only 2 years out of HS. Used to be if you didn't sign out of HS, you had to either be a RS SO or a TR JR to qualify for the draft before your college eligibility expired.

He'll get a shot, just like Herring, Shores, Noot, and Little, if they're still here.

I think it’s if you hit a certain age before a certain date you’re eligible. Heads-up Jones is also draft eligible

Three of our four top starters the past two seasons have come from the portal. If history is any indicator, our Friday and Saturday SEC starters in 2025 are playing for someone else right now..

It's an age thing. It isn't new. He'll be 21 before a certain date.

Both of them could be legitmate starters based on their 'stuff'. It appears that both struggle when someone gets on base, which means they need to learn to pitch better from the 'stretch'. If they can be taught, they could both be dynamic.

Anderson, Shores, Noot and C Johnson are promising options for next season….and that does not include any portal adds or ncoming FR that might be ready.

I honestly didn't realize this was in question.

I can't see any way he doesn't get drafted high enough to go

Is there a reason we should have any hope that he would come back?

He’s a really good college pitcher, probably the mvp of this team.

But he is a LHP with two pitches that throws 92. He only a marginal pro prospect. So the decision he is faced with will hinge on how bad he wants to be a pro or play at lsu 1 more season.
