I am a huge Orgeron Fan. He loves LSU. No reason to Hurry.

Not 100% with that but maybe. My point is that he is wants to be at LSU and is not concerned about an extension at this time.

I agree With that
He’s year 2 of a 5 year contract.
I imagine It has some decent incentives on there that may get him a raise.
I wouldnt Even be opposed to giving him a raise if we win 11 games, but I still Like the idea of haveing at least 2 more years to decide on extending him.

I'll say this much- he's well on the way to having a lot more bargaining power. The state of the program is good- and getting better.

Posted on 10/16/18 at 12:15 pm to HunnyBadger
Of course it is. Let’s pull a Notre Dame move and give him 10 year contract.

The OP was an obvious troll (i hope), but stuff like this scares me regarding this fanbase.

Yes. Time to extend.
He's now on dozens of AD's short lists. Some Power-5 program will offer him a 5-tear deal at the going rate.
Plus, Orgeron wants to be at LSU. Most HC's just want a gig

11-2 and we can sign an extension. i wanna say 10-2 to get it done before december signing period, but i also wanna see 11 wins. 11 wins is an excellent season, 10 is solid. too many 9 win seasons should get a coach fired here. 8 should get axed the next year if they can't win 10.
NO NO NO...
Win the NC, sure...otherwise, no extension until 2020

Holy frick you’re retard.

11 wins is an excellent season
But extensions should be for either winning something big or showing promise to win something big.
Give him a raise for the remaining 3 years sure.
But let’s see what he does next year and the year after before we give home a raise.
Here is what I would want to see for any extensions
1. NC- no brainer
2. CFP appearance/ SEC Championship
3. 3 years at 10+ win football.
Without a trophy or a CFP appearance I want to see a couple things. Can we win once Joe is gone aka can we develop a QB. Can we win once O has a full team of just his guys. Will the offense continue to improve and maintain that improvement after a QB transition.

Where the frick else is he gonna go for more or even the same money? Or even a job offer?
STFU.
What a miserable, piece of shite person you are... and dumb as frick to go with it.
You don't think there's now a plethora of teams out there that would want a coach that is 13-5 in the SEC WEST?
It must infuriate you to know that ED O is proving your stupid arse wrong.... How sad is it that you can't enjoy LSU football because you WERE WRONG????
Not only is he producing (and at a significant value comparably), but he did so to help LSU save money and get out from underneath the money owed Miles. So he is 3,000 x the person you are.
Results at a value, and a true love for LSU.
Meanwhile, you're king of LOSERVILILLE.

And you must be the QUEEN of LOSERVILLE.
Maybe you and your partner can post some videos of you lovebirds watching a game together? That way we can get some gifs of how angry you get when O is wiping the floor with you....

I just got dumber reading this topic.
O is getting it right now but to jump so quick as to an extension would be a horrendous business decision. O loves LSU...it’s his dream job. Secure Aranda for an extension. O ain’t going nowhere

Orgeron's advisors are not stupid and they know they have to strike while the iron is hot. Which is now or next week. Look for Da Caoch O to throw down the gauntlet in the next ten days and insist on being paid like a top level SEC coach.
and this proves you know nothing about the man... at all.
How about this... if he doesn't do that, will come on this board and tell us what we already know? How dumb as frick you are?

my bad. thought it was a 3 year.
nvrmnd all my above posts on an extension.
thought next year was his last on the contract.
would need to win the sec for an extension with 3 years still left on a contract.

Finish the next 2 seasons, then talk new contract.
But for the love of GOD, keep the buyout low!
He wants extension and more per year, fine. But buyout is no more than 5mm
Also, you wanted to give the man an extension after game 1 of year two of a 5 year contract?? L oh fn L. I bet your finances are in line

If season continues to go well, loses only to BAMA here on out, gets in and wins a High profile bowl game, then extend out to 5 yr total BUT in exchange make buyout anytime during that time only 2 mill.
