I think He’s doing a great job this year. But there are plenty of coaches who have had one good year. I’d like to see him string a few together before we commit to him further than we already have. He’s under contract for another almost 3.5 years. It’s like riding out a rookie contract. You don’t extend a guy till he really has a chance of going somewhere else.

And like I said, good work should be rewarded. I would be fine with giving him a pay raise, but I think 3 more years is a fine commitment

So it's your position to not extend until the current contract ends and can be reviewed. You and others that are against an extension will be in another thread bitching about O recruiting 3 stars instead of 5 stars. There was a poster in another thread claiming that it would have no effect whatsoever. You can't make this shite up.

He shouldnt get an extension until he pulls off multiple 10 win + seasons in a row. Winning 6 games and losing 1 isnt enough.

Well he presented a case that refuted your assertion. Les Miles was all but fired in 2015 and landed the #2 class.

Number 1 his staff was essentially intact. I think three or 4 coaches got the boot.

Maybe it was an anomaly. Although from reading the recruiting board O's longevity or lack thereof has already been used by other coaches with recruits and their family's. We can't say for certain what kind of effect it's had but it's certainly there. To deny this is infantile.
