Is it Time to Extend Orgeron's Contract?

I asked this after the Miami Game and everybody laughed at me. How about now? Or do we have to beat Bama by 100 every year for the next 10 years before some of ya'll admit O is a great coach?

Why? You think he’s going anywhere?
Posted on 10/15/18 at 9:29 pm to HunnyBadger
How bout we beat Bama by 1 point once and start there. Thanks.

He is not going anywhere. No need to extend at this time. CEO will get his.

Was it time to extend Les Miles' contract after going out 7 - 0 in 2015?
Let's finish the season and preferably let him play out his contract before we tie more money up. I think Ed Orgeron can do great things at LSU but there's no reason to get emotional and jump the gun.

Isn’t he already signed through 2021? Let’s see if he can bring home some hardware first, but yes he is exceeding expectations in a big way

O’s not going anywhere. He’s doing great but already making more than anyone else would pay him.
This is how we got in a bind with Les Miles.
Extend/raise Aranda asap.

Play out the DAMM season!

As stupid and short sighted as the OP is, I wouldn’t put it past Alleva.

Why???? This is sooo stupid! Where is O gonna go? No one wanted him!
Why the hell would we give him more money?? He has to win a hell of a lot more than what he is doing now.
Man I kinda miss the summer sometimes when y’all hated O. These topics suck arse

Good Lord no. I like Coach O, but these long contracts are going to start biting people on the arse. Look at Auburn. The buyout for Gus is crazy (like 30 million dollars). For better or worse, they are stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
A&M is in the same boat with Jimbo. They better hope he produces bc they are stuck with him for 10 years.
Coach O has a fair contract. If he does well and we want to renegotiate in the final year of his contract that's one thing, but let's not jump the gun.

Why in the frick would you do this? Nobody is coming for O. He's doing better then expected, but lets pump the brakes a bit.

Yes. Then I may entertain extending his contract.
If we can't beat Bama, why did we pay a buyout? Why did we get another coach that can't beat Bama?

Did the check from Ponamsky clear?

Shut the hell up! Do you even think before you type?
For the love of everything holy, this season isn't even over!
Do you know what a CONTRACT is? Look it up.
Do you think he is building LSU, (His dream job), back into something great only to bail at the first opportunity?

Say he goes 10-2 this season and USC comes back calling offering 6M per year.
It is hard to argue this season's success at this point in time. No, you don't extend him now but after a 10-2 campaign it damn sure may be on the table. He's currently the 11th highest paid head coach in the conference. I am certain this will improve if we continue to win this season. Remember 8-4 was the ceiling a few short months ago.

I assume you made this thread as a troll.
Coach O has aced 3 of his 4 tests and is doing great. But he still has at least 3 more tests to go. We're past the doomsday 66, 7-5 bullshite national media/negatiger worldview but if he slips to 8-4 (which I don't think will happen) we are right back to the jury being still out.
9-3 is now "meh," 10-2 is the honest expectation. If he goes 11-2 he'll carry momentum into 2019. The only way the "E" word should be uttered is if he goes 12-1 and we are in the CFP. Then (and only then) is it a fair question.
Our fanbase is bipolar. We had the idiots all summer who tried their best to bash him enough to try to get him fired. Now we have people prematurely cannonizing him. Enjoy the season, root for your Tigers, let's cross the bridge when it's actual there in real life.

Problem is we're paying a fortune at the DC position. If we give O the kind of money Herman/Jimbo are getting, then we're paying even more overall than we would have two years ago, when we went bargain hunting because muh optics.
