Is it me just complaining or does Stanfield have the weakest arm in Center that we’ve had?

No play at 3rd is weird considering should have been a play there.

They all seem to miss the cutoff man or just lazy throws back to the infield.

Just isn’t very aggressive, almost as if he knows it’s a bad idea to make the throw.

I like Stanfield, but I hate that Kling didn't work out. He was one of the best defensive centerfielders that I've ever seen at LSU.

Haven’t seen Stanfield make many if any plays like that all year.

Just catches the ball and lobs it in, also misses his cutoff man at times.

I like his bat and him as a teammate, but he is a pretty average center fielder and there isn’t much film to prove otherwise.

Definitely has a weak arm and the opposition knows it.

There was probably a play at third, but up 5-1, the correct play is to keep the runner at first.

I read that wrong initially as well. I think he means all Stansfield's throws.

I agree Stanfield doesn’t have a strong arm. But he does have very good range. Which is why he’s out there.

Should be batting lead off starting tomorrow or Jay’s he’ll come out of it stance looks stupid. Curiel couldn’t make good contact against a beach ball right now thrown under hand.

He might but who cares. Outfield arm doesn't matter much. Especially center.

What makes an outfielder good is speed and the ability to draw a quick bead on fly balls. Speed extends the radius of the circle he covers, and that is the most important factor. What makes a good outfielder great are the things you are talking about - making plays on the edge of his range and making the rare throw to get an out.

Stanfield has speed and relatively good adjustments. That makes him a good outfielder. I agree with you that he lacks those last qualities that would make him great, but he’s a good piayer.

I get the point, but college teams are trying to win in addition to developing guys.

Kling was a 5 tool guy that will clearly be the more desired prospect, but he never did shite at the plate. Stanfield is a fast guy who can get to most balls, he's also hitting over 300 and is tied for the team lead in doubles and triples. He may never make it to the big leagues, but he's producing at this level.
