Is anyone worried about Braelin Moore only being 300 lbs?

There's a lot of big powerful dues on opposing D lines we're playing this year. Can he handle them at his size and avoid being bull rushed? I can still see DJ Chester on skates last year. Can't have that going on this year. Thanks.

Yep. Need him to be 315-320

Nope. There’s centers in the NFL in that weight range that do very well

Not at the moment. Now if he goes and gets pushed around all game against Clemson then I will be

300 lbs is plenty big enough for a center. Just look across CFB and the NFL.

No. All that matters is Can he make the right calls up front and be quick enough to get to the leverage point of a shade, 1, 3 tech

Not at all. He’s the perfect center size

It's weight to height and body build. Chester is listed at 6'6 315 on ESPN. 6'3 300 is not bad if he has a low center of gravity. Charles Turner was 6'4 303 and a decent center.

Centers can be smaller than the other 4 OL

He’s strong arse he’ll be fine

You’re not welcome
That is ideal size for a Center. You sound like you don’t know much about football

300 is fine for a center. It's not like we're gonna be facing some zero tech hall of famer very often.

SEC Projected centers
A&M - Mark Nabou: 330
South Carolina - Boaz Stanley: 325
Oklahoma - Troy Everett: 315
Kentucky - Alex Wollschlaeger: 311
Texas - Cole Hutson: 308
Arkansas - Caden Kitler: 305
Mississippi State - Koby Keenum: 305
Tennessee - William Satterwhite: 305
Auburn - Connor Lew: 303
Vanderbilt - Jordan White: 300
Ole Miss - Brycen Sanders: 295
Alabama - Parker Brailsford: 290
Missouri - Connor Tollison: 285
Average weight of SEC centers not including Moore, 306 pounds. No I'm not worried. He's on the lighter end but I don't think that makes him concerningly unplayable.

Nope, typically centers aren't as tall as the guards and tackles. 6' 3" is good height for 300 lbs. Keep that center of gravity a little lower.

AI Overview
+4
The top 5 NFL centers, based on weight, are generally within the 300-320 pound range, although this can vary slightly depending on the player's build and role. For example, centers focused on pass protection might be lighter, while those prioritizing run blocking might be heavier. A good example is Jason Kelce, who, while arguably one of the best, is listed at 295 pounds, according to Savage Style. The average weight for an NFL center is between 280 and 320 pounds.

Not at all it’s actually the perfect build for a center . You want a 6’1 6’2 300 pound type center that can get under tackles and win with leverage and quickness. Jason Kelce was the best center in football for years at 6’1 300 pds he actually said in interviews smaller tackles gave him more issues than big defensive tackles. Parker brailsford for Alabama is probably the best center in the country and he kicked our arse last year at 6’1 300 pds.

Mark Stepnoski was one the best centers to ever play in the NFL and he was 6' 2" 270 lbs.
