Alabama needs a top 10 victory (on the road) to add to their resume.

We've seen this same script play out year after year after year.

This No. 10 ranking is about Alabama.

It also doesn't hurt for TV ratings that this will be a top-10 matchup.

Or if the glass is half full, a top 10 LSU beats #6 Alabama and is catapulted to the CFP if we win out

Putting us in the 10 spot with two losses also makes it easier for the committee to put us in a 4 spot and in to the playoffs if we win out.

We don't deserve it, but I'll take it.

Correct, and NOBODY hopes this happens more than I do.

But history says otherwise. We've seen Alabama opponents ridiculously ranked in order for them to build a better resume.

And frankly, a 2-loss team, ranked No. 10 at this stage of the season, is a joke.

LSU is #10 so ESPN can market the game as a top 10 matchup. Doesnt matter if LSU loses.

We have no business being in the top 10. They purposely ranked us that high so when Bama beats us their fans will be making a case about how they beat a top-10 team and deserve to make the CFP. It's absolutely pathetic

LSU would be like #5 or #6 if we beat Alabama. It would look silly on the rankings sheet @ 7-2 sitting between undefeated TCU and Michigan, but we would have a strength of record similar to #1 ranked Tennessee as strange as it sounds. Look, when your top 10 and beat another top 10 team you often swap position.

Even if Ohio State, Clemson and TCU win out undefeated and are ranked #1-3 it would be insane to think that a #5 ranked LSU (#4 Michigan has lost at this point and got jumped) that just beat #1 Tennessee in the SEC championship game would still sit behind Tennessee after beating them before the final ranking. I just can't see the committee dropping Tennessee from #1 to #4 after #5 beat them in the final game of the season. Tennessee will get left out at #5 or the committee will leave out one of Clemson or TCU and put LSU and Tennessee as the #3/4 teams.

Don’t care about Bama. All I know is if we win out then there’s no question we’re in the playoffs now.

Committee showed us some love

True. However it is a resume builder with a win for LSU too.

Additionally LSU being good at football is very healthy for the sport. We have a national brand, a famous coach and we attract a lot of eyes to the TV. We are a really good story right now.

Top 10 is we forgive you for you week one blunder, and no shame losing to Tennessee. Path is there if you want it or we drop you to 19 if you lose this week.
