I’m still not sold on our secondary or defense as a whole and one good game against a piss poor offense isn’t going to change that for me.

The good news is if Jayden lets the ball go, we might have a potent enough offense to just get into shootouts with anyone.

Not ideal - but if the defense is lacking, I think we potentially have the kind of offense that can just score at will. Jayden just has to keep taking those chances and throwing it down field.

When he does, it completely changes the dynamic of our team.

Not based on the first three games.
We played a good half vs a good Florida State team.
Then we played impressive vs one that was completely inept.
Then impressive vs the least talented and inept coaching staff in the league.
That doesn't indicate we are a national championship team. If we kick Ole Miss, then its time to dream of what can be.

It's a VERY lofty goal, and the season won't necessarily be a disappointment if we don't.

I think SECCG, 10 wins is most realistic. Playoffs or farther is lagniappe

The same was said last year and then that trip to College Station happened.

2 differences come to mind from this year and last year.

1. The offense last year was up and down. This year they haven't been down. 2 drops and 2 bad redzone attempts, but other than that, they're on. They got points on 14 straight possessions. I've never seen LSU do that.

2. Aggies took advantage of our lack of depth at DL last year. BK went out and got Jefferson, Lee and Shand. In addition to Wingo, Smith and Guillory. So we have quality depth now. Jefferson has been legit.

Depth would make it hard for us to win the SEC and 2 playoff games. We see what happened in the 2nd half against FSU and no one wants to admit how much a lack of depth hurt us.

I'm not that impressed with anyone else, so anything is possible. If we can develop some quality depth over the next few weeks, I think we could have a reasonable chance against anyone.

Not completely unrealistic but the margin of error is close to zero.

Need to win out to have a chance. That is unlikely, but if they get hot, anything can happen.

College football overall seems very weak this year. I feel like NIL and transfers have greatly disrupted depth and actual learning of the game due to lack of continuity. There are probably 20 teams that have a shot at the playoff.

take a breath.

Look, we looked fantastic against Miss St, but they're terrible.

We got crushed by the only good team we've played, but FSU is very good.

Let's just wait for a few more games to get more data points. Then we'll know.

Jayden was amazing last Saturday. I don't think we need him to play at THAT level but we are gonna need him to play at a very high level going forward.

I think basing post season success on 1 game against mississippi state is a little overboard. There were a ton of positives in that game and if the defense continues to fly around like they did saturday then LSU could beat anyone in the country. However they will have to continue to play like that for a full game and not have off halves like they had in the 1st two games to reach the potential.

Win the west and go from there.

This season looks pretty wide open for the top 4 teams.

Hopefully this team will show more consistency moving forward and continue to improve.

What do you consider "realistic"?

Possible? Probable?

There is a path to the National Championship. LSU has the talent. There is a tough road ahead.

There are 5 ranked on ranked games this weekend (and 8 undefeated vs undefeated). There are potentially 4-5 ranked on ranked games next weekend. A lot of current no-loss teams will end up with losses just because someone has to lose. That will continue to happen.

Playoffs are definitely realistic. Win out and it's a lock. Two losses? Not a lock but still very possible. Traditionally LSU has had great luck when they need the dominos to fall a certain way. (2003 & 2007).

Yeah that wasn't a good MSU team. But it's nice to LSU not come out flat at 11 am and dominate.

I think it’s a realistic goal overall but it’s early and we have some problem areas that need improvement. Keep evolving and improving and we’ll have a better picture in a few weeks.

Bama will be way up for a payback win. Seriously doubt we have a chance in that one.

They better find a QB and an OL if they're going to win it.
