These are meant to be low percentage against the mainstream predictions, so they might all be wrong lol.

I just don't understand why you would move the best first baseman in the country simply because there are other people that are capable of playing first base, but not better than Morgan.

Skenes not being a two way guy is a no-percentage

I think skenes will definitely hit and be a two way player.
I heard him on a radio interview last week saying he was going to pitch and hit. He said no more catching even though its his favorite position. He said he came to LSU to get better as a pitcher and a hitter. I don't think he is expecting to be in the lineup everyday. He mentioned he was looking at situational DH opportunities.

NO rumor..spoke to his dad a couple of days ago and he has given up baseball and concentrating on his degree in finance.

Yet that is exactly what you are doing. There are also people in society that are self righteous and yet hypocritical.

My opinion - the ceiling of this team requires Morgan in the OF so that we can hide White at 1st and we put better defense at 3rd.
The problem is if you move White to 1B and Morgan to OF that means you bump Pearson to the INF or DH. Pearson's bat is going to be in the lineup and Kling will play OF. I'm not sure you gain much defensively by "hiding" White at 1B if it means moving Pearson to the INF.

Because it might allow you to plug someone in the lineup at 1B that hits better then the guy you would put in the OF if you leave Morgan at 1B.

is he there just for moral support? who are you taking out of the lineup to play him?

It does if you think Pearson and Kling will be in the lineup, which I do.
ETA: I suppose you could try Kling at 3B and see how he does there.

Kling isn’t going to be penciled in on day 1 unless he beats out Pearson, or unless Skenes is the SP on day 1 which will open a spot in the lineup. But the point is he isn’t a guaranteed regular as of now.

You can have 5 covid seniors who don’t count against the roster

he was starting DH before the injury. I think he is starting Dh this year.
But you dont cut a guy who doesnt take a roster spot who could at worst be situational DH and at best return to the form that made him starting DH heading into last year.
Especially one that is a big time team leader. If Jay wanted him gone, he would have transferred or gave up baseball. There is a reason he is still here and Jay is very high on him.

Would surprise me a tad especially if they want Skenes to DH on his off days pitching.

If people were mature enough to have a non-bashing conversation, project could make his roster thread and we could talk about who plays where and who may not make the team. But it turns into people saying guys suck and shouldn’t be on the team (looking at you Jack D.)
My main concern is who holds the boom box if Bianco and Beloso are gone?
This is a huge void on this roster that no one wants to talk about.

The roster has been significantly upgraded and there are a plethora of DH candidates. I would think Beloso would want to play everyday in his last year and that wont happen here.
Skenes, White, Dugas, plus the outfielder who doesnt play the field are all viable options.

If beloso wanted he could have transferred if he was worrying about playing everyday.
I think white starts at 3rd, dugas at 2nd. Skenes and Beloso are your DH.
people forget Beloso was pretty highly thought of coming in and has just been setback by injuries.
