What about the SEC rule that disallows the Supervisor of Officials that every referee in the Conference reports to being a graduate of an SEC school??

Silly me, there isn’t one. So EVERY ref in the SEC answers to Steve Shaw, Alabama graduate in Mathematics. He’s also the NCAA’s rule writer.

Nope, no Alabama influence there

Wow. First time I've REALLY seen that hit. That's absolutely vicious. If it's not targetting there is no such thing.

I would love to see the stats on otger SEC teams and targetting and see how Bama compares. Also NCAA as a whole as compared to Bama.

Was Mack Wilson not ejected for that hit on the A&M player?

It doesn't have to be helmet to helmet. Player is defenseless. It was a hit lead with the helmet and forcible.

These are the kind of hits that are suppose to be prevented. launching head first and causing a concussion of the other player.

Mack Wilson is given a "License to Kill" from the SEC

Justification for not calling that was that the replay officials said, "He wasn't defenseless". No comment on any other qualifiers for targeting, even though a piece of the aTm player's face mask broke off

where's your little drawing like that for D White? if you were capable of looking at it objectively, you might find his hit was much less vicious than this one, which you adamantly assure us is NOT targeting.

so you come here to address the only ambiguous call in bama's favor you can find and just ignore Wilson's hit on speedy?

Doesn’t have to lead with helmet, per rule.
Defenseless player - check
Forcible contact to head or neck area - check

why is it that Bama players that are waiting on the outcome of a felony stay on the team and still play while our players are off the team until it is resolved?

Also flagged for a felony. Not reviewed in game but will supposedly reviewed AFTER season.

How convenient for his trial to be pushed back for over a year and a half so far? He has never been suspended and will probably be drafted next year and be gone from Alabama before anything ever happens.

Just paranoid ravings of a disgruntled LSU fan...

If enough people begin to see how corrupt the NCAA is from top to bottom, maybe it will change.

No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6). (A.R. 9-1-4-I-VI)

Note 1: "Targeting" means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball. Some indicators of targeting include but are not limited to:

Launch—a player leaving his feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area
A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground
Leading with helmet
, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area
Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet
