If this is a Landry plant post to make SW look bad it actually does the opposite. If something BK did was so nefarious & SW said, "frick this, your fired" it will come out in the lawsuit and SW looks like the adult.

Tom Mars is an idiot. We can name multiple cases just in the last 10 years

Scott is a lot of things but he isn’t stupid and wouldn’t have “gone rouge”. This sounds like bullshite

bullshite.
What a pathetic attempt at spin by LSU.

Not saying any of this is true at all, but I imagine it’s not saying a public reassignment. He would have still been the HC publicly, but only as a figurehead. I guess that’s what he’s saying. Then once the ducks are in a row, fully fire him. So essentially make him a dead man walking. But Woody just fired him. Again, not saying it’s true at all, but I imagine that’s what the post is referring to.
Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise if it was true based on the shite show we’ve seen already.

According to Tom Mars, who apparently represents a lot of coaches in these cases, no school has ever won the lawsuit when attempting to fire for cause.
How many have actually gone to court? Id laugh if its 0.

Yeah Tom Mars can SABODs.
He's playing semantics. "No school has ever won a lawsuit." That's because the guilty coaches and lawyers settle before a judgement is rendered.

so now LSU has proof of burden to fire for cause
Hopefully, our "insiders" are smart enough to know the difference between "burden of proof" and "proof of burden" (whatever the frick that's supposed to mean).

what is the source of this info? Are those your typos or his?
Posted on 11/11/25 at 11:12 am to Byrdybyrd05
This is ridiculous. This begs the question why Woodward wasn’t fired with cause then and why we are buying him out?

I don't know the veracity of the statement, but add Tom Mars to the chorus of laughter pointed in our direction.
If a school has actual cause, and follow the terms of the contract for termination with cause, then there's no lawsuit.
If there isn't actual cause, or the school doesn't follow the appropriate terms, then they should lose 10 times out of 10.
What's going on at LSU is chicanery of the highest order, one way or the other. Woodward couldn't "reassign" Kelly without Kelly's approval, I wouldn't think.
Now, maybe Woodward approached Kelly about a "reassignment" and Kelly told him to kick bricks, at which point Woodward should have gone to the Board to discuss the next steps. If that's what happened, then Woodward's termination would be justified.

Also LSU getting a settlement would technically be LSU "winning".

Name one case where a coach was fired for cause for poor performance in the last 10 years. All of the cases being mentioned on here had something going on that was off the field and/or related to NCAA violations.

Woodward was given authority to reassign Brian Kelly inside the athletic department until they got could get all their ducks in a row for this whole ordeal. Woody decided to go rouge and fire BK, however because he did not have permission of the BoS to
terminate
How is that BK’s fault. If his boss fired him, he’s fired.
It’s done.
If Woody went rogue, that’s LSU’s problem not Kelly’s.
And if that is really what happened, I don’t blame BK at all for going scorched earth on LSU.
