Visiting my daughter. She was there on a State Department scholarship. She speaks Russian, Spanish and Persian (language of Tajikistan along with Russian). She’ll be in Kazakhstan all of next year on another State Dept scholarship for Russian. She’s a badass. Super proud.

Well, at least it was over quick, and she got her money.

As I was circumnavigating Tierra del Fuego on my Solaris 50, I sighted a castaway clinging to a scrap of driftwood. Imagine my surprise when I discovered he was wearing an LSU hat. After depositing the chap on shore, we parted with a cheery "Geaux Tigers!"

Was I supposed to read this in the voice of J. Peterman? Because I did.

Got one a few years ago in Atlanta airport... It was by Devin White

Had many and gave many in my world travels. Seen LSU clothes on some people in Bali, Bangkok, Abu Dhabi (where I live), Dubai (down the road), China, Cairo, but the craziest place was at a Cantina in the middle of Kazakhstan.

The best one was in 2004, I was looking for an apartment in Abu Dhabi, after I had been living in the Reach Rotana hotel in Abu Dhabi for 15 months. When I rang the doorbell, this huge Egyptian man opened the door, saw my LSU cap, and said Geaux Tigers!! I was like, how in the hell? And he said he just came back from Baton Rouge as he sent his twin boys to LSU for their first semester.

State department was going to be my second guess. I would imagine the tourism sector is minimal and not many multinational companies there, either. I would think the expats are primarily military and government.

Kazakhstan should have more variety, I think. I remember reading there were a ton of US lawyers there, which I wouldn’t have expected.

It’s surpassed my expectations. Had the best fettuccine we’ve ever had in Capri.

Le Camerelle

Wife had been craving it with white sauce. They didn’t have it on the menu but we asked and they did it with butter and cream. We split it and we both thought it was the best we’ve had. My wife is Italian and cooks fettuccine often but this one was special. We had it for lunch as we were on an excursion so I would imagine dinner would be good too.

I’ve lived here infiltrating enemy territory for 25 years. LSU fans are everywhere including a bunch here! We have a ball with these bumps!

Getting off the plane in Sydney, someone yelled out "Geaux Tygas" in the most aussie voice ever.

Was pretty cool.

I just got back from vacation in Sydney in May (I go every year).
My good buddy there is itching to attend an LSU football game. I’ll try to get us a game this season or next.

One of my favorites … I was sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Rome when a group passed by … I whispered in a low voice Geaux Tigers. One of the group quickly whipped his head around with a very unhappy look on his face. They were from Tulane ; ).

Super cool. When traveling internationally and just for that reason, I try to have LSU something on.
