You got 7 pages so far. Nice troll, brother. Still happy, but props to you, sir.
Meh, Loved Archie and Peyton’s a national treasure. Funny as shite and even found a way to make Eli funny. But yeah, they shoulda sent one our way. Come on, Manning family. Love that family, though.
He has been there 6 years and has a better opportunity. Every coach in the country does this (leaves when they’re hot for better opportunities). But thank you for confirming my point, the fact that he begged to finish the season with Ole Miss and LSU was going to let him will be ignored.

The national narrative on Kiffin

Posted by cmjellybean on 11/30/25 at 1:34 pm
What happened:

Kiffin begged to coach Ole Miss through the playoffs. LSU agreed to let him. Ole Miss said no, no players meeting and any coaches considering leaving, get out. I don’t blame Ole Miss, but that’s what happened.

What they will SAY happened:

Kiffin abandoned his players, and destroyed their playoff hopes by pillaging the Ole Miss staff. Kiffin burned down Oxford on the way out and didn’t even have the decency to meet with his players. LSU hired a terrible guy with no regard for Ole Miss’ best season in recent memory and no regard for their postseason hopes and the players will suffer because of it.

Can’t imagine the hype for the game next year if that happened? Talk about good old fashioned hate.

Did you read the article you linked? The FTC ruling was reversed and appeal withdrawn.

Ole Miss didn't do this though. They sat on their hands.

They were in a tough spot. Optically it looks bad from a player/media perspective to send him off without letting him meet with the players. Plus, I’m guessing they were hoping if Ole Miss made the SECCG, maybe Kiffin would consider staying, or maybe Lane sent signals he was conflicted and they were trying to get him to stay. Who knows?

I don’t blame Ole Miss

They are trying to keep Lane from poaching coaches and players. They have more football to play and are thinking about next year. This is the NIL world we live in. The way players move around, I’m guessing noncompetes in the NIL contracts are weak or nonexistent, so little protection for Ole Miss there. I’m in the corporate world and my noncompete is two years before I could pursue former client’s. Players don’t have the same restrictions.

If I’m Ole Miss, I’m not letting Lane near the players or coaches. From a business perspective it’s the right thing to do. If I was leaving for a competitor, I’m shown the door immediately with supervision and I have a strong noncompete in place.

Scouring the Oxford Holiday Inn Express for a new flower for his lapel so he’s ready to break the big news.
Are you rooting for OM in the post season? FWIW, I don’t believe he’ll be allowed to coach OM

Baker has a hug hole in his swing…mobile QBs. D saved us tonight and phenomenal halftime adjustments, but not sold on him.

re: It’s a massive troll by Lane

I tend to agree. Seen way too many of these in my life. It’s never the guy you think. If Lane stays it does make me wonder if LSU is using this as well to deflect. Lotta noise.

Someone who can immediately relate to the people of Louisiana

Like Nick Saban and Les Miles? That narrative is simply not true. I want someone who can coach football and relate to the players. I don’t give a crap if they can relate to the people of Louisiana.
His defense got lit up the minute we started facing mobile QBs. The defense has no clue how to contain a mobile QB and frankly it’s mind-boggling. We over rush and take bad angles every damn time.

Here’s the latest from LSU, Brian Kelly drove up, went straight to the team room, talked to the team, left five minutes later, about ten minutes after that all the players departed

Yelled at them for 5 minutes for getting him fired?
