At this point in the season, no one was saying that

Hopefully he has 3-4 great games to finish up the season to get him placed well for the draft.

It doesn't matter if you can't read coverages.

I literally have ZERO fricking clue who you are. I am glad that you at least know me though.

Nuss has not done great recently, but he's 10 times the QB Max Johnson is/was.

Get his nuts out of your mouth.

Every excuse that people make to defend Nuss was also faced by Johnson and he did better throw for throw imo.

“Nuss is a first year starter”
So was max johnson but he didn’t have 3 years to sit and improve

“Joe Sloan sucks”
Ensminger was underwhelming post Brady and Peetz was an absolute dumpster fire. Not to mention he had to deal with Coach O.

Max was way less turnover prone and better throw for throw. Nussmeier is by far more talented but his talent is irrelevant when he throws us out of games over and over.

I was on this train as well. If the OC is the one he has now, he will continue to slump.

We lose Sloan, we lose Underwood. They have a close relationship. Nuss isn't the guy.

Everyone says he’s a “gunslinger”, but being a gunslinger is fine. Nuss can’t read defenses. One read king. If he could go through his progressions he’d be fine. Or if he could run. He can’t do either of those and throws the ball to the other team.

Hmmmmmm.... Sounds like what's his name, that one qb who couldn't get thru his first read then won the Heisman the next season.....?????

Yeah, Daniels could run, but he could run his first season. It was his passing improvement in his 2nd season that made the difference.
Nuss just needs this season under his belt.
He'll be fine.

Here's a fun fact... Nuss already has more passing yards and touchdowns in his first season than Daniels or Burrow in their first seasons.

Daniels had beaten Alabama at this point in the season his first year. And improved. Nobody was saying those things at this point his first season. Nothing even close to this level.

Why is everyone dying on a hill trying to compare a Heisman winner and nfl baller to that shite show we saw Saturday? “Sure Daniels could run”. Ya think? Stop it guys.

Nuss may be an ok qb before it’s over, but are you guys seriously comparing him to Jayden Daniels? Are you watching the games? You honestly believe he can be anything close to that?

You can tell the game is still moving very fast for him.

I agree with you, if he puts in the work, there is a high ceiling.

Agreed. He is a 1st yr starter, period. He has shown some flashes, but the forced throws, missing guys who are running open, and forgoing opportunities to run for positive yards must improve. Unless the program tells him otherwise, he'll be back next season, and I would expect improved play. Underwood will get his reps & sets too, and if Nuss struggles he'll step up/in. Think 07 with Flynn & Perrilloux.

Nuss is being forced to be the entire offense. He's having to throw it 40+ times a game with zero running game to help ease the pressure of throwing.

we were pretty awful at running the ball in 2020 too.

Averaged almost a yard less per carryZ

If he hasn’t figured out how to scramble or set his feet to throw by now then he never will. He just doesn’t have the mechanics to play SEC caliber teams. Even my kids say he never throws correctly. To be a coaches kid, he doesn’t seem to do the little things.

But he has decent stats so we must worship right?

Let me tell you this experts Underwood is not coming to LSU to be Nuss understudy if you think that you’re insane . Underwood is the better QB now he will have the keys as a freshman .

Nothing suggests it is a lack of experience

He is being fooled too often on pre snap reads and his panic limits him in seeing what’s actually happening. I don’t see him adapting.

He does but only time will tell if he comes back or not. If he finishes out the season strong with the 3 remaining games and Bowl game and if hes a projected 1st Rounder he likely leaves. Otherwise he will come back.

Or, Underwood is our version of Trevor Lawrence, and he takes Nuss' spot as a true freshman.
