re: IMO, Nuss needs another full year of experience at least to become a really good qb.

Didn't read all the posts, but we need to get a back that can gain yds. A true oline that can get your back 2 yds at will. This would take nuss to the next level.

Make a defense respect the run and it opens up the passing game. He's not daniels or burrow their last years, but he's a far cry better than Danny Etling, etc.

I’d rather they play Collins right now honestly.

Nuss

Is not the answer. After two years of y’all insisting he should start over an eventual heisman winner, rookie of the year candidate and MVP candidate you finally get to see in 4K what his mop up appearances have been screaming at you! Kid is a turnover machine. Not SEC material and frankly not LSU starting quarterback material. There is a reason why he waited around all this time. Where the frick else was he gonna go?

I do not want the coach to bench Nuss. That should have been done in the game. It wasn't.

Except for the fact the people paid to scout for the nfl see his talent. But what good is that when u have message board guys who never played a sport saying he has no ceiling.

If Nuss is the quarterback next year, I will spend my Saturdays not watching LSU football. He is a turnover machine. That isn’t going to magically get better. He loses the starting job if he has competent competition.

He has played so bad the last few weeks I’m not sure we want him back.

max johnson went in as a freshman and was immediately better than nuss is rn.

nuss has had 3 years to develop. there is no excuse.

What physical traits are those ?

He has an arm that can make all NFL throws. He has not been injured and has the typical size of an NFL QB. He is mobile and has decent athletic ability and speed. These are his physical traits. It doesn't mean he utilizes all of them well, but they exist. In their infinite wisdom, NFL teams feel this is what it takes to be an NFL QB and they draft QBs using this criteria and hope the flaws can be fixed.

Unless he shaves 4 tenths off his 40 time and makes a few runs to convert 3rd downs and makes a pull read or two every game, it will be more backfoo, side arm squared up throws. He is the best we have now, but he has hit the ceiling.

If you went back in time and read threads from JD's first season starting at LSU you would see this exact same thing being said. There were legit people pissed off that he returned for his final season.

The point to take from this. Maybe you, and people like you, don't have a clue what you are talking about.

This is fricking retarded. But considering it's you posting it, I'm not surprised. Max Johnson was asked just to manage the offense, and he was average at best at doing it. Nuss is being forced to be the entire offense. He's having to throw it 40+ times a game with zero running game to help ease the pressure of throwing.

Nuss has not done great recently, but he's 10 times the QB Max Johnson is/was.

Not allowing other players an opportunity when one is playing this poorly will hurt recruiting in coming years.
