What does the fans not accepting mediocrity look like? Just curious.

That half-empty stadium and dead crowd for Ole Miss were depressing
The one where 15% of the crowd left? And using one game a year as an example is probably supporting my point of accepting mediocrity when it comes to attendance.

LSU fanbase would be a great case study in groupthink and sociology. Kelly is proving if you package mediocrity with a professional appearance, the fanbase is much more accepting. Drop the standards and act like you're shaking and moving when you clear the low bar.

The downvotes alone prove your point. We live in different times man. People are soft and especially if they never were apart of excellence and winning, remembering what you went through with your brothers to achieve it over and over to achieve excellence, they will never understand what you know to be "expected to be an elite program" and they'll just hate because they are just that "haters".

You think understanding that LSU isn’t at an elite level and tempering expectations for this season is acceptance of mediocrity.

It’s called understanding reality. We don’t want lsu to lose 4 games, but that’s what this squad is.

They don’t put teams away, they don’t make clutch plays consistently, they give up big plays at key moments, and the overall talent level is not where it has been in the past.

Recognizing this and not losing your shite when you lose is not weakness, again it’s being more perceptive and understanding reality.

Doesn’t mean I want this to be normalized, but growth isn’t linear it’s up and down and we’re not even technically 30% through BK’s contract.

Grow up.

Why cherry pick?

I guess it all depends on definition of dominance.

2005-2007 and 2010-2011 are the only stretches of back to back 2 loss seasons.

Oh, frick off. Just look at what happened in the SEC yesterday. The field has been leveled to a great degree. You guys are delusional and need to find another team to root for if you can’t accept the reality of the situation.

I don’t think anyone is accepting it. We just know that Kelly is untouchable for probably another two seasons.

Hanny last night said the 11-1 and 10-2 is the new 12-0.

Think it’s the nature of the evolution of the game and pay for play.

Don’t speak facts on here, cause it falls on deaf ears. I’m with you 100%. The day a Vandy win at home is celebrated, shows exactly where LSU is as a program. Mediocre at its best. They will find a silver lining in a 1-9 season if that were LSUs record. Standing by for

It’s a little different now. We are getting outbid for the jimmies and the joes in this NIL era.

the fans who pay for tickets and support the program and think that validates their constant demand for perfection and satisfaction are doomed to be disappointed

Take a look around the SEC bub. There won’t be undefeated teams every year anymore. Every team will have 1 to 3 losses. I’m not saying no team will ever go undefeated in the SEC again. Just that it’s not going to be an every year occurrence anymore. Bama and Georgia both have 2 or more losses and they both have more talent on their teams than LSU does. Even Ole Miss arguably has more talent this year and let’s not act like A&M doesn’t have as much talent on their roster as LSU does. Tennessee has as much or more talent as well sitting with 2 losses. Let’s also not act like Florida isn’t plenty talented. Then there is Texas sitting with 1 loss but take a look at their schedule. They probably had the easiest schedule in the SEC this year. Only 1 team they faced had as much or more talent than them and that’s Georgia who they lost to. If you had thrown Bama, Tennessee, LSU possibly even, or Ole Miss on to that schedule, they likely ain’t sitting with only 1 loss either. I’m not saying LSU doesn’t have its issues this year. We do. But at best, we were losing 2 games this year (which still could have had us going to the SEC championship). We could and should have won the USC game for sure as well as the A&M game. Florida and Bama just straight took us to the woodshed.

This is the new college football and I love it!

Current year records with head coach and year started at current job:

Ohio State 10-1 Ryan Day 2018
Oklahoma 6-5 Brent Venables 2022
Alabama 8-3 Kalen DeBoer 2024
Boise State 10-1 Spenser Danielson 2023
Georgia 9-2 Kirby Smart 2016
Clemson 9-2 Dabo Sweeney 2008
LSU 7-4 Brian Kelly 2022
Oregon 11-0 Dan Lanning 2022
Wisconsin 5-6 Luke Fickell 2022
USC 6-5 Lincoln Riley 2022

LSU is 7th in wins this century and has the 7th most wins this year of the top 10 winningest programs this century. That’s consistency not mediocrity.

Of the coaches whose 1st season was 2022 only Dan Lanning has a better record this year than Brian Kelly. And while he has proven to be a great hire, he was a risky hire. He had NEVER been a head coach.
