Having “high expectations” for the program on a message board will definitely make the teams play better.
I mean, just look at what the O haters did for the football program. If they hadn’t trashed O here for a year, then LSU would have never had the greatest season in CFB history. Thanks, moron dickheads!

Just hope the OP’s boss and family judge him so harshly on a daily basis. Life is not perfect meathead. No college program wins nattys every year in every sport. Get real. We are as good across the board right now as we have ever been.

True enough.
But it is also true that having high expectations doesn't excuse a person acting like a scumbag or being negative. Nor does it excuse a person for not looking at situations rationally and melting over thing that are typically part of the normal progress of the season (specifically talking baseball and basketball here). Or for having unrealistic expectation relative to talent we have.
There is a large degree of irrational in sports fandom, both ways. It is what it is, we all do it.
