re: I'll let two coaches who beat us tell you what's wrong with our coaching staff.

It changes every damn time. Bama game we ran hill too much. Clemson we didn't run enough. Now we aren't running enough trick plays. Bama "the hat" was full of himself. If this doesn't all just scream arm chair qb who knows nothing I don't know what will.

hide their butthurt by blaming it on Miles
so you honestly believe Miles throwing calls at the end of the Clemson game had nothing to do with the loss?
How do you pumpers do it? How do you see all success as the result of his genius, and deflect all failures?
How?

They're having fun thinking they have major college coaching figured out from the office.
They have a legitimate complaint, they're just not sure what it is.
Every level-headed mind associated with the program agrees that there needs to be some significant change with the offense.
If this doesn't happen, Miles will lose some goodwill.

No doubting those comments at all. However, if you are going to bitch about "the reasons we lost" those last 2 football games it's fair to rebuttle that it's been LSU's formula for success as well. Lest the masses forget we did go 12-0 in regular season just 1 year ago. Not a whole lot of bitching going on back then despite the same old same old.....
On another note Miles seems to either find a way to win when LSU is losing such as trick plays he's used very well or at least stay competitive to the end. I like our chances against anybody. Fact is the last 2 losses we were winning very, very late in the game. We obviously weren't too predictable the entire game or we would have been getting our arse kicked the entire game.
Lastly, knowing Miles he won't fall into the same trap again. That's what makes him a better-than-average and borderline great coach. I'm looking forward to 2013 season no matter who goes to the NFL or who we recruit. Miles will get it done once again. He's proven that over time. Geaux Tigers!

Hearing this from you is the definition of irony. Besides your hissy fits on the poliboard, if a cop coughs wrong you declare them fascist oppressors misusing air. Yet when a cop buys a homeless man a pair of boots on a cold night, you turn into a ghost.
Miles isn't above criticism, but he deserves at least genuine criticism, not sweeping generalizations thrown at anything that doesn't end up positive. I'm beginning to think if someone forgot to water the grass you frickers would blame Miles for not laying fake turf two years ago.

"FIRE EVERYONE!"
Yea! Start with the fans, the Negatigers and the Apathetics. The "pep rally" before the Chic-Fil-A game was more like a funeral and the Clemson folks out-cheered us throughout the game. Maybe we ought to look at ourselves in the mirror before we fire anyone.

Alabama did the same thing against Georgia in the championship game. It's not rocket science to know that a team is going to play that defense in that situation.

Offense predictable, defense preventative.

All I'm asking from Chavis is to scrap the "prevent defense" everytime the other team goes into their 2 minute drill.
We didn't play prevent on Bama's final drive. Go back and watch and you will see we actually blitzed a bit. THe problem wasn't necessarily playcalling as much as the secondary gave to o much cushion, hence people thinking it was prevent. Hell the TD pass went right over a blitzing J. Mills' head.

If Mett hits a wide open Landry on 2nd down there would be tons of people on here lauding Miles and Stud for not getting conservative and going for the win. They got conservative at the end of the Bama game and it cost them.
The previous two times LSU tried to run on Clemson in short yardage situations, they were stuffed. If the run gets stuffed twice on second and third down this board would be blasting conservative play calling.
The offensive system is a mess, I'll give you that. Pointing out play calling situations after already knowing the results is just silly.

They knew a true freshmen would get the call wrong and blitz instead of covering the RB coming out of the backfield.
Buddy, the lead was pretty much lost at that point. They were already in easy field goal range with a minute left. The debate had already been shifted from "Can Bama send this to OT or will LSU win" to "Is this going to OT or will Bama win outright."
The game was really lost before that drive. LSU could not run on Bama but had passed the ball down the field. Once at the thirty, LSU never threw again and the game was lost.

quote:When has this happened?
I'm just tired of seeing us lose to inferior teams because of shitty coaching.
quote:The pass plays were fine. We coach 3 and outs? Are you 12?
I'm sure you thought the three pass plays and subsequent 3 and out on our last possession against Clemson was brilliant coaching.

Too predictable on offense and defense.
After the Bama loss:
Saban on LSU's defense during Bama's winning drive: "They did exactly what we thought they'd do."
After the Clemson loss:
Brent Venables (D-Co) on LSU's offense: "Their idea of a trick play is a play action pass."
Pathetic.
Venables said it BEFORE the game.
And he said it as a compliment to what he said as being "precise" and successful.
quote:
“Their form of a trick play is a play-action pass,” Venables said Saturday. “They are very precise in what they are doing, and that’s what you have to appreciate and have great respect for. They do it with great intensity…The whole mentality is being in attack mode and in the running game. “They are great technicians at what they do.” Still, LSU proved its versatility in a 21-17 loss to Alabama on Nov. 3. LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger passed for 298 yards against Alabama, who is still ranked first in the nation in total defense and No. 5 in passing defense.
So, now that you know Venables thought well of the O, you gonna retract your shite. This was said on the 29th.

Could the OP define prevent defense?
I vote not.

Yes, becuse the talent and scheme is so good. Our defense is the best in the country when they aren't on the field 70-80 snaps per game. No team can condition themselves for that week in and week out. Constant 3 and outs by your offense is killer to your defense no matter how good they are.
