It’s crazy…Alabama and Texas and Georgia and OSU and Clemson and Notre Dame and Michigan and Penn St. and Oklahoma and on and on don’t do this and they don’t seem to have a hard time keeping the 18-35 year olds happy and interesting.

All of the photos below were taken during the 2024 football season:

Ohio State

Clemson

Notre Dame

Michigan

Oklahoma

It’s worth noting that many of the teams who wear the fewest uniform combos (Penn State, Alabama, and Texas on your list) also have the fewest team colors (one color plus white).

I’m old too.
When kids see pics of Joe Burrow or Jayden Daniels winning the Heisman, when they see pics o4 video of national championship games, the team is in our traditional uniforms. We don’t need gimmicks or alt uniforms. Traditional and classic wins every time.

Great examples, but these old arse fools doing most of the complaining don’t care about facts, the reality of college football today, etc.

You forgot Vandy and the infamous w/g/w. Fortunately we won that game, in spite of the lack of sartorial eloquence.

The only ones I didn’t mind aside from the gold/white/gold was gold white white and white white white vs a&m.

I loved that all white vs all black vs the Aggies.

Never stray from the classic look vs the classic teams like ole Miss. also glad ole miss wore their traditional uniforms instead of that gaudy powder blue

anything all one color screams HS football. We are better than that!

All but Bama have done alts at least once in the last three seasons. UGA has worn them multiple times. Not that any of you care about facts when it comes to bitching about this.

I don’t the guy is bitching about wearing alternates once a season. He’s bitching that they wore them for half the season.

I agree with him. I get a once a year money grab by LSU and their uniform company, but it has gotten beyond ridiculous. The piped in music sucks and has ruined the atmosphere from when I was a student and minimized the Band. Instead, they turned it into a ghetto dance party.

Again a little here and there is what they should target, but instead they’ve flooded the games with this crap and made them unenjoyable.

GPG is not an alternative for God’s sake. We have two historical jersey combos: GWG and GPG.

Just because LSU chooses to wear the GwG predominantly, does not mean GPG is an alternate.

Alternates are non-traditional uniforms. Stop trying to claim the classic GPG is an alternate. It is our standard dark uniform combo.

Most people aren’t upset with a once or twice year alternate uniform game against some scrub team. They are annoyed with it being overdone, just like the pathetic DJ shite in the stadium. A bit of piped in music is fine and actually good. Forcing it to be a ghetto/pop dance party is just stupid.

Keep tradition but sprinkle in new things provides plenty of things to bring in new generations.

infamous w/g/w.

I guess I’m all alone in this, but I liked them.

All three jerseys, helmets, and pants we wore last year are the same design/template with colors swapped around. People are getting very dramatic with the outrage over it. The team likes the variety—get over it because it’s not going to stop.

That must be why Bama gets all the best recruits...oh wait they wear the same boring jerseys every game too.

Enough with the gimmicks to try to convince 18 year old kids to attend LSU. If a kid chooses a school because of the jersey they wear, they probably won't stick around too long

Why are you including pictures of those teams in their regular uniforms?

Not a single one of those schools are wearing 6 alternates in your post. That's the point. Nobody is saying don't wear them at all

LSU literally wore an alternate uniform more than they wore the G-W-G in Tiger Stadium last year

Every time this topic comes up there is a large group of idiots who think people want to scrap the alternates entirely. It truly boggles my mind why they can't grasp folks just want LSU to dial it back

Wearing an alternate uni in BR more than the traditionals is frickin absurd

I agree with this. The problem is that LSU wears what MLB calls "City Connect" jerseys. They are a completely different design. All of those pictures above are traditional jerseys in secondary colors. If LSU stuck to that, it wouldn't be as bad. Also, the vast majority of traditional programs (like the ones pictured) don't change their iconic helmets. LSU does. That is wrong to me.

I just don't like the gold jerseys. They were bad.

Stick to gwg and gpg

Once a year breakout the white helmet white pants. I dont mind em with purple or white jersey

I like these

Here's how I rank them:

1a. G-W-G ----- 1b. G-P-G
2. W-P-W
3. The "all-white" look. It's gotten a lot of support here; it should be strictly a road uniform, as it's almost completely devoid of color.
4. W-G-W. Not as bad as I thought it would look.
5. G-W-W. Asking the musical question: why?
