I’d love to know what basketball brain trust worked on this hire? Who studied this guy and envisioned this is the way to build off of what we had going previously.

SEC is one of the strongest conferences in the history of college basketball this season. Even with a better team we were going to be fighting and clawing to play 500 basketball. With Ward sitting out and then our best player Reed going down……….we will have trouble finding a win on our SEC schedule. Is what it is.

He filled up on all those cupcakes in December. This team might make NIT

Can we make an NIT with 2 or 3 SEC wins?

"Exudes" is not a word anyone would ever use to describe that plank of wood.

And the team is not showing any strategy or tactics in game.

What this shows is that being a high iq, x and o guy isnt the key to success in CBB.

By all accounts, McMahon is the most cerebral coach in the conference. Reporters who have interviewed him are unanimous in their impression that he exudes strategy and tactic.

He’s a master of the game, just not a master at roster construction

Normally I would immediately dismiss this as blatant sarcasm. But given the mental gymnastics and contradictory leaps of logic some will go to absolve McMahon of ANY responsibility, I can’t 100% rule out this being a serious opinion.

His recruiting is the ONLY thing he’s done remotely well. His “X’s and o’s” have been absolutely fricking awful. I’m not quite sure what LSU is trying to do in their half court offense. Sadly, I don’t think the players do either.

It’s like Michael Scott is coaching the team. They start every offensive possession without knowing where it is going and just hope to find something along the way.

Everybody tells me I shouldn't worry about how much money these coaches make because it is not my money. OK, fine!! Then fire this coach, give him his payout, and bring in a winner for once. I don't know how you can get much worse. He improves his roster every year but the record doesn't
improve. The turnovers, the lack of motivation his teams play with, the in ability to move the ball. I've had more than enough.

100%. There is some talent out there. Collins and Chest are two of the better big men we have had they just aren't used very well. Sears was MVP of his previous conference and scored 21 pts a game. Carter is fast, quick and can jump. Bailey does everything fairly well and is good on defense and rebounding. McMahon takes talent and somehow destroys it with his system. There are no plays that consistently work. Make it stop. Fire the man.

Yes. Our best big guy by far, Jalen Reed is out for the year with injury. We would have likely beaten Vandy with him. He could draw defenders which left guys wide open to shoot. He was the player we could least afford to lose. Two guys can't make up for the impact he was having. He was having his best year here.

We don't get any ball movement. It's always isolation. Basically a few screens and some kick outs maybe if we're lucky. Might as well be streetball

Let’s be honest, the people performing these gymnastics are only trying to justify their dislike for a coach that had one of the best 5 years in program history (other than Dale in the 80’s). They are determined that whoever replaced him was going to be better, and now they can’t admit defeat.

There is no world in which Chest should ever put the ball on the floor more than one dribble and he's having to do that because we lost Reed. There's a reason he didn't play last year. This is coming from someone who really likes his game.

Neither Collins or Chest have the girth to go against the grown men bigs we've seen the last two games.

I understand losing Reed was a big blow to the team but cmon man be real with yourself. If Reed is healthy maybe instead of going
0-18 we’d go 3-15.

Basketball has almost no $$ to compete for players in the portal. We brought in 3 senior guards but no big guys. We would have had a chance in these 2 games if we had Jalen Reed. He is our best big guy by far. There is very little depth on this roster. We simply can't compete with other SEC schools for players because the $$ is not there. That's why we are having to rely on freshmen while Missouri is playing a guy that's 30 years old and has been in college for like 7 years.
