This team is a solid team, but not a great team. There is no need to lose confidence in Lane.

I see a team that looks like what it is. A brand new team with a brand new coaching staff with key key injuries. I know we love to throw out the no excuses statement out on this board, but reality is we are missing arguably our two best players on each a side of the ball, as well as a possible break out WR in Wright and our very experienced talented Dashawn Spears. That is a big deal. Lane even said he was worried about these injuries.

Now other concerns. Blake Bakers time here is on the clock. He has constantly and I mean constantly folded in major ways in big games especially when we need stops. The defense has looked good in his time, but then will just flat out lay an egg in a major way that has cost us games. In no way should Kentucky be bullying us and putting up 35 on this defense. This is his last season here.

Now in regards to Leavitt. I may be in the minority here but I like Leavitt. Shows toughness, and has gotten better every game. However, and a big however is that he has got to be better careful with the ball. Trying to play hero ball way too much. With that said I believe as time goes on and he is here another year he has the tools to take this team to the playoffs and more.

So does it suck to lose to Kentucky? Yes. Do we have as good of team as we thought? No.
But there is plenty of games left. I see people writing off bama and Tex as losses and I laugh. Have you guys not learned how the SEC has been this year? It is hard to win on the road. And LSU has the biggest advantage when it comes to playing at home. This team can compete with anyone and will only get healthier. Playoffs are not out of discussion, just keep moving.

Ole Miss and Kentucky are in the same position. Both beat us and are ahead of us in the standings. We are doing less with more

A NIL era fact, no team with this many transfers has ever made the CFB Playoff.

Only read the first paragraph. I wouldn’t say “solid”. Too many foot shootings for a “solid” team.

He was out coached this game. Sloan and Stein embarrassed him in key moments for sure. We looked unprepared

I think the pressure has really gotten to Lane. Between leaving Ole Miss, the battle with the SEC, the huge investment by boosters that expect positive results, etc. He just doesn't seem to make good decisions and looks stressed out.

While I agree it’s a little different. Ole Miss has a foundation of players that stayed. Along with a HC that was in the program for many many years. They have some continuity.

In regards to Kentucky, they are just playing with house money. Nothing to lose and playing at home.

LSU better be laser focused on the next 2 games. Don't know if Miss State QB will be playing but if he is, he probably going to light our defense up. Auburn is one of the hardest places to play on the road regardless how mediocre they are.

It was obvious that Sloan knew more about Bakers schemes and tendencies than Baker knew of his.Baker was out coached in the OM and KEN games.Sloan destroyed Baker it was embarrassing. There ain’t nothing can be done about it right now.

There are a LOT of “good but not great” SEC teams this year. There’s zero margin for error in this conference. In a less stacked year, I think this group is still 10-2 even with rough injury luck and a couple of talent regressions. Unfortunately with these margins we might see 8-4.

Honestly can’t believe anyone is looking to jump ship on this coaching staff after sober reflection. I get the kneejerk anger. But we know Lane and company are good enough. We’ve seen his track record at Ole Miss. We know he can build a real contender.

No one wants to hear it, but in this new normal, we might have to accept that some bad beats with injuries or talent misses will result in “lost seasons.” Not bottom falling out, lose to Sun Belt teams seasons, but seasons like this one is shaping up: two losses halfway through, likely 8-9 win regular season and playoff misses. The other guys are trying to win too, and when there’s 20 or so programs all saying “With this kind of investment, you should never miss the playoffs,” someone’s bound to be disappointed.

Sucks that it’s us this year, hopefully that’s not a trend, but the track record suggests we’re ok.

tRant is not indicative of the entire pulse of this program and fanbase. In fact, this place is probably the dregs of the fan base lol. I like it here...but it's the truth. I think the pressure that's getting to Lane isn't the outside stuff. I think it's the pressure he's put on himself for this year and he knows its crumbling.
The plan just didn't work out and it's bothering him.

I don't think it's the boosters, the SEC or Ole Miss bothering him. He lives for that kind of shite. But losing football games and the way this season is going. Is probably eating a guy like him alive.

LSU gave him everything he asked for. They gave him all the things he said he came here for that Ole Miss wasn't providing. It didn't work out this year. It is bothering him.

Baker was waiting on Sloans favorite inside handoff and tunnel screen…lol He didn’t realize Stein was really calling the plays. Why play Prevent D in the 4th quarter that is a sure way to LOSE! Thank you Lane and Blake for another lackluster slow start, bad special teams, shitting your pants on TV and getting your nuts clipped by a 1st Year Coach!

100 percent agree. First half defense was passive and did nottackle well at all. Just like soft d of ole Miss first half. Getting on Leavitt is not cool.

Very good, thoughtful, spot-on analysis. You must be a coach or have been a coach!

Our QB is average and makes bad decisions. He stays in the pocket when he shouldn’t. He doesn’t roll out to pass when he should. Our OL is very average. Our WRs are barely above average.

The defense is good. Yet they still make mistakes. However the final drive was an awful coaching job.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the new fad of everyone piping in crowd noise and music through giant speakers at times when they should be getting flags thrown for it. That's making road games way tougher than they historically already have been.

Say & Think what you want about coaches, players and this Tiger team; but one thing that is Guaranteed Certain is that EVERY other Team in the Country Trembles with Worry + Respect when they Play LSU!

Our Opponents, Coaches & Fans KNOW in the deepest depths of their heart/soul that in any/every game against Louisiana State University's Football & other Sports Programs they are facing a Championship caliper Team!

Irregardless their schedule or other opponents, they always prepare, consider and treat their game with LSU with Utmost Focus + Seriousness! No matter where LSU is ranked or who/how/what is said about the current LSU team, talent, ability.....whether played home or away.....the game will, or easily can be, the very Toughest on their schedule!

For many....it is their Super Bowl! And if or when they beat us, no matter how good or high they are ranked, it is a VERY BIG DEAL when they beat LSU!

Proud of my Tigers. Both games we lost went down to the last play. LSU games are uber exciting, super fun to watch, have massive audiences with packed stadiums, and are discussed/talked about by ALL!

And the above statements regarding the LSU Tigers are Facts + Reality!!
