Fournette can cut better than 95% of backs I've seen. He doesn't run to contact nearly as much as people perpetuate. He just doesn't shy away from it.

You're saying a guy that can run over LBs and run away from DBs is overrated?

Good Lord you're dumb.

LF7. Even though he's highly skilled, his running style is more conventional than Guice, and last year proved susceptible to the fumble

This. Great point. Damn shame they/we never figured out how to use him on the biggest stage.

...for the record, there's no damn way I'm going against either and it doesn't end in me acting like I'm going in, but fading on the stiff arm to take a (quick and probably early) dive...

Guice has been better than Fournette in every per carry stat

One rb has 616 carries and the other has 234. Not an apple to apple comparison.

Most only try to tackle Fournette once.

I am a large man. The only difference between me and the Auburn DB is I could not jump. Fournet would kill me. Guice would kill me.

Only way I'd try if I was armed with a bazooka and got first shot. 10 yards away.

Neither Guice nor LF have a ball security issue.

Fournette is injury prone. Bookmark this. He will flame out in NFL

I disagree that LF is injury-prone, but there's a valid point here to consider.

LF is basically a pure power back with great speed. He ran over defenders in college and yes, it was beautiful to watch.

But the NFL is much different - all those defenders he'll try to run over are bigger, stronger, faster. Holes are tighter and close quicker. LBs are faster and hit harder. That style will take a toll on his body.

For the older folks here, LF reminds me of Herschel Walker. Great power and exceptional speed, but not a lot of juking went on. Spectacular college career (and LF's destruction of that A&M DB looked just like Herschel trucking Bill Bates of Tennessee). Herschel had a long and pretty good NFL career, but it wasn't exceptional.

I hope LF is different.

And the follow up to the difference in carries will prove out whether Guice compares favorably with LF in the long run. I loved both guys efforts but the jury is out as to whether Guice could handle heavier carries over a full season without losing some of his dynamic style and or incurring injury.

The rap on injury for Fournette is a joke - an ankle sprain??? This guy will not be shut down in the pros - he won't be the target of defenses like he was at LSU and he won't have nearly the workload.

This, in no way, invalidates my post.

Guice - I wouldn't be able to tackle either, but after Guice juked me I could claim if only I could catch him.

LF7 would run me over and there would be no saving face - just pain

Fournette is more like Legarette Blount if you want to play the connected careers game. The funny thing is you naysayers act as if Fournette just ran into everyone in front of him. The dude actually has a slsher/cutback game as well.

This goes over A LOT of people's heads. The more carries Guice gets, the more likely his average per carry will go down. It's just the law of averages, but who knows our o-line be good enough to open holes vs bama this season.....here's to wishful thinking
