On pure talent, I’d say Watford, but I’m not sure I want a freshman running the point next season.

Williams by a landslide!

Williams doesn’t do anything better than Watford

Watford. Dude will be a beast if he returns next season.

Williams.
But I do hope Watford really wants to experience March Madness and comes back

Point guard experience more valuable than anything. Plugging in a freshman there would set us back. Javonte is the answer.. luckily he's probably the one coming back.

Watford. We will be fine at the guard position and have help coming in down low.
Watford is a more complete player than the 3.

Why do people keep using the Tennessee game. He played out of his mind that game. He isn't capable of doing what he did against Tenn. every night.
He's a 12 and 4-5 type guard.

I don't think Watford is staying, and i don't know enough about the incoming class to say if i'd rather keep the guard or the big.
I would expect both Smart and Emmitt to return, as neither of those guys have what it takes to make it in the NBA, but they are both great college players.

Very disappointing year, imo.
Tied for second in SEC was a disappointing year?
Wow

Even if JaVonte never ends up becoming a superstar in the SEC he is still a former top 50 recruit who has started for 2 years for a team who is already losing its starting SG. If you look at most of the championship teams from this past decade they are usually led by solid upperclassmen guards who stayed and progressed as players (Kyle Guy, Ty Jerome, Jalen Brunson, Joel Berry, Ryan Arciadocono, Shabazz Napier, Kemba Walker, Peyton Siva, etc.). JaVonte could be that type of guard his 3rd or 4th year and this team will need it. LeBlanc is very similar to Emmitt so I dont think thatbwould he as much of a blow. But I dont see Eric Gaines or Jalen Cook filing JaVonte's role as easily. Trendon similarly doesn't have a suitable replacement yet.

Your crazy, I want Watford or emmitt back. Watford upside and improvement from year 1-2 will be insane, and emmitts effort and hustle will rub off on the new guys. Smart coming back would be icing on the cake

I want all three back as well but replacing both starting guards is just no easy task for any team. Even though Cam Thomas is a five star he is going to need some upperclass leadership to help him out and settle him down during the season. A line up of PG: Smart SG: Thomas SF: Manning/Wilkinsom PF: LeBlanc PF: Days sounds better to me than PG: Gaines SG: Thomas PF: Emmitt/Watford PF: Leblanc PF: Days.

Why would you include Smart? Do people want him to come back?
Posted on 3/25/20 at 11:06 am to LAcajun2
I think Smart averaged 14 points a game in the SEC with one of the best Asst-To Ratio
also he shot like 44% and 38% from 3 in conference. Honestly I can't believe some people don't think this program is lucky to have him. He is a beast. He had multiple games last year where he just flipped a switch and couldn't be guarded.
Now he needs to get better on defense

Watford and it isn’t close. Can hit 3’s at about 35% clip, score anywhere on the floor and will be much improved in 2021 at things like defense and ball-handling.
2) Smart
3) Williams

He had a bunch of games where he played fantastic. The Tennessee game last year was good but he's had plenty of those.
Y'all think smart wasn't a good point guard? Let him leave and throw a freshman out there and see which one you wish you had back.

Our fans really are basketball illiterate.

I was critical of both Smart and Watford early on, but I thought both had stepped up their games later in the year. Watford was going for 15 and 8 on 51% shooting in his last 15, Smart 14, 4, and 4 on 44% in his last 15. I would expect both of them to come back at this point.
