Obviously not. Doesnt mean it wouldnt have been beneficial in the long run though.

Absolutely not.

The boosters just shifted the money for Miles buyout into 20 or so brown paper bags.

Seriously, it amazes me that a coach who was almost fired can turn around and put together this class. It's ridiculous.

No way anybody could keep this class together in the face of a coaching change.
Nor is keeping a No. 1 class worth making the wrong decision on a head coach.
We will see if we made the right choice...

90% of recruiting is done before November. Les did a great job holding on to what he already had, and also did a fantastic job grabbing those last couple of uncommiteds, but this class wasn't "built" after this past November.

But once there is instability with the coaching staff, you tend to lose recruits (A&M etc.) as kids want to know they will have stability for their 3-4 years and other coaches use it against you. LSU is just a unstoppable beast.

You don't beat Saban with a top 10-15 ranked class no matter how much your offense improves! Michigan St. and Clemson had much better offenses than we did and they couldn't beat Saban. If Miles breaks Saban's streak of 5 straight No. 1 ranked recruiting classes, then maybe we have a chance. Miles has always been a good recruiter. If he's fired, we more than likely lose Wilson(much sooner than we did) and Orgeron and there's no way we keep the no.1 class.

Not #1 for sure. Probably end in the top 10 depending on who the hire was and assuming we kept Orgeron and Raymond. But there would have been heavy attrition

Possibly. Entirely depends on who the new coach is. Irrespective, a single recruiting class should never dictate a coaching hire. You retain a new coach to meet long-term goals, like winning a title.

We don't beat him now either with good recruiting classes.

The new coach wouldnt have had the #1 class this year but we can't know if he wouldnt have kept the ball rolling starting next year, as well as implementing an offense that wasn't the equivalent of watching paint dry.

If the recruiters stayed intact, Orgeron,Wilson,Peveto ect then not much, and if we keep these guys and say landed J Fisher then the sky would have been the limit. There were some scouting service that had us #1 recruiting Class 2 yr's ago with M Dupree,L Fournette ect. Like the guy says there's no trophy for recruiting classes, BUT it sure is nice!!!
