Many of the posters so far clearly don't understand what worst case means.

Cap One is closer to a best case scenario than worst case.

A 10-2 team that beat Bama and a&m In the last month will not go to a worse bowl than cap 1

Well, it depends on what Auburn does....

If Auburn wins out, too, then that'd mean:

Auburn 11-1 (7-1)
LSU 10-2 (6-2)
Bama 10-2 (6-2)
And let's say USCe at 10-2 (6-2)

You're look at the SECCG winner to BCS, and LSU having an excellent chance of going as an at-large BCS team over Bama (would have lost 2 of last 3) and USCe (especially if they lose to Clem's Son, too) and Auburn (if they lose SECCG).

If Auburn loses to UGA, then beats Bama....

LSU 10-2 (6-2)
Bama 10-2 (6-2)
Auburn 10-2 (6-2)
And let's say USCe at 10-2 (6-2)

LSU goes to SECCG and stands chance to win auto-bid to BCS.

If Auburn beats UGA, then loses Bama....

Bama 11-1 (7-1) - likely wins SECCG and auto-bid
LSU 10-2 (6-2)
Auburn 10-2 (6-2)

Then it comes down to LSU competing with Auburn for an at-large BCS spot.

(I guess A&M could still get in at 9-3, but that would be pretty shameless. Slive/Alleva don't exactly have a history of standing up for LSU, but this would be a low point even for them.)

So, if LSU wins out, I think they have a very decent shot at a BCS game. LSU-vs-Northern Illinois in Miami!

11-1 Auburn vs. 11-1 Mizzou in SECCG. Winner to Sugar. Loser to Cap One. 11-1 Bama at large BCS. 10-2 LSU to Cotton.

0% Chance Alabama goes to the BCS in that scenario. They would have two losses, both in November.

bzzt, wrong. No way that Bama could finish 11-1, and Auburn finish 11-1, and LSU "win out". Does not compute.

Yea I messed that up.. but Auburn could finish 10-2 along with us and get the nod for bowl bids over us in a worst case scenario just as A&M did last season.

possible, but they'd have a later loss than LSU, loss head to head with LSU, and more importantly, no star power like A&M had last year. I just don't see it.

Even with 2 losses bama would be eligible for a bcs at large slot, and they'd get it.

I like looking at the BEST case bowl opportunity.

Auburn loses to UGA or UT, then beats Bama; We win out and win SECCG, we go to Sugar Bowl.

It could happen!

Plus: Any bowl besides BCS is a worst case bowl imo.

I do think Cap One is 1000x more likely than Cotton.. And BCS is more likely as well.. I just can't rule out teams with equal records getting bids over us after last season

Worst case scenario is probably losing 56-0 in the Independence Bowl to Tulane. HOPE I'M WRONG THOUGH

LSU - Chicken

People keep saying this.

The Chicken Bowl is NOT repeat, NOT going to invite LSU two years running. Especially when they know the fanbase is "meh" about their game (at best), and probably won't travel well.

If we win out, we are going to a BCS game.

If we finish 9-3, we are going to either Cotton or Cap1.

If we finish 8-4, we are going to the Gator Bowl.

CFA bowl is not even an option this year. It's out. It's either BCS/Cap1/Cotton/Gator for LSU this year.

The question is whether or not our fans would travel to any of these games. Even if we lose to Bama, if we can beat A&M and Arky and go to the Cap 1 or Cotton Bowl, I think it would be a decent consolation prize.
