If LSU had to lose a game this year though this would be the one to lose. Non conference in the first game gives you plenty of time to recover in the polls and has no bearing on winning the SEC.

Well, what do you know. The most rational comment in this whole thread didn't even come from an LSU fan.

i would be disappointed. and probably mad. then i would watch how the rest of the season plays out and come to a rational conclusion.

Depends on how LSU performs, but this is a reasonable response. Can't judge an entire season by a single game ... unless of course you are an LSU "fan".

I should say when we lose but that would be too controversial....

What will your thoughts be of LM

No different. He's not a good coach. The outcome of the UNC game won't have any bearing on that.

It would be too controversial, yet you put it out there anyway... nice one.

If LSU loses to UNC, Miles will be gone before the season ends...

Why should this board go into meltdown mode? I mean, how arrogant are Tiger fans? UNC is the ranked team here, not LSU. UNC is the favorite, not LSU.

If we win, I will be happy knowing we beat a better team. This notion that LSU "has" to win every game or its an upset is just ridiculous.

For what it's worth (probably not much) some mock drafts for next year have 7 UNC defensive players being picked in the top 40 picks: Robert Quinn DE, Marvin Austin DT, Deunta Williams FS, Bruce Carter OLB, Quan Sturdivant ILB, Kendric Burney CB, and Charles Brown CB. Sounds like a a very tough defense, not one I want to face in the first game.

UNC should NEVER be favored over LSU in football. If they are then we have a problem. I'm sorry if that sounds arrogant, wait, no I'm not.

See, it's shite like this- "if LSU loses, Miles will be gone" that displays Rantard ignorance. UNC isn't La Tech, people.

That's what I don't understand. People keep posting how legitimate the UNC will be, but yet can't accept the fact that LSU will NOT be the prohibitive favorite in this game.

So he could go out there, LSU could completely smash UNC, run up 40 points and shut UNC down. All the while completely outcoaching UNCH across the board. Still no bearing on whether or not Miles is a good coach?

What if LSU looks like a completely different football team then they did last year? No love for the coaches changing it?

I never said that I think Miles should be fired if he loses to UNC, I just predicted that it would happen - if the anti-Miles crowd starts after the first game of the season, well, I've been around BR long enough to know how people react - the pressure will grow exponentially as the season progresses and the losses add up (if LSU loses to UNC they will lose at least 4 more games).

This is what upsets most LSU fans who are unhappy with the state of the program. Are you saying that Butch Davis has created a stronger team in 4 years at the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA than Les Miles has been able to MAINTAIN after inheriting national championship caliber talent? And people are OK with this?
