What if LSU looks like a completely different football team then they did last year? No love for the coaches changing it?

And what makes you think this. Miles is going to miraculously learn how to coach over the summer

this will be the SOS for the third year in a row

NC is considered the best defense in the nation. They have 3 first team all americans including a DE, an MLB, and one 2nd team LB.

while the rantards would freak out, I would not be surprised if LSU went 10-2 with a loss to NC and one of Bama and Florida, but not both or 9-3 with a loss to NC and Ark and one of Bama and Florida but not both. Its a tough schedule.

good point, you haven't learned how to use the quote function since joining the rant in 2007, how can you expect Miles to learn how to coach over the summer...

IF we lose it would be an absolute meltdown. If we lose 2 games before October some heads are going to roll and frankly football won't be fun anymore because there will be so much negativity surrounding the program.

If the team looks as lost as they have over the last two and a half years, I will be calling for his head. If not, I would be willing to give him a bit more of a rope to hang himself.

He doesn't know that the best things he will learn is after he knows it all.

Les always does his best when he has tons of time to prepare. The UNC game doesn't worry me. The games without a month to prepare are the ones you have to worry about here...well except for the bought victories from instate schools.

Kinda long but I felt the need to express. Don't read my book I am posting if you don't care.

The UNC game will be like a bowl game which Miles has always done well in with the exception of PSU who also played dirty ball at the end to win. Regardless this game will be inside a dome which LSU has always done pretty fair in and won't have to worry about a mud pit for a football field. I really like our chances in this game. For a few factors alone I think we win walking away. UNC might have some good defensive players but their offense is not on par with their defense and Chavis has started to turn things around on that side of the ball after just one year. Least I can see the results compared to the year before he got here, Not to mention some good players will be finally seeing the field more.

On offense Miles like he did with the defense hired a whole new coaching staff that I am for once excited in seeing except for Crowton and Stud. And I don't care for the Crowton this and that. I know what the stats looks like for him but I also remember 2007 and having a ton of records broke. I'll give him another year to see what happens. Our line was crap due to players leaving or getting kicked so what can you do? We also had a somewhat green Jefferson. Let's see what happens now that the line is getting focused on (I assume).

JJ has much needed experience I believe and should progress and pan out. He has shown flashes of what it takes, He just needs to channel it for a full game but hopefully with some teaching he can. The new TE coach has been a D1 QB and has coached many positions including QB. I think he was brought in to assist all over the field on offense personally. You also have new running backs coach who I think will be a much needed improvement over Porter without losing recruiting skills. And let's not forget about Gonzo, I think our future is very bright with this guy. Knows Meyers system and helped build it and it's been pretty successful. We could use some of it mixed with Crowtons. The possibilities are endless there I truly believe.

I for one can't wait to see what he does with our WR talent compared to what he did with UFs. I think with experience on offense mainly the line and the talent we have surrounding it esp with the recent recruiting classes past and present we are in good terms for the next few years. Now if the season continues to fall to shite we have reason to worry but until then I wouldn't panic just yet. Miles has shown the ability to turn things around when needed and given the circumstances the past few years a slight drop off was to be expected. The reloading/rebuilding should be about over for us.

if the offense struggles to run. jj holds the ball for 15 sec., is hesitant to throw downfield/trust his arm, and takes sacks and we lose= start calling gary patterson's agent

STOP with the what if/when scenarious. Let's look forward to kicking some Tar Heel butt. Nobody needs the negative vibes right now; what with the oil spill, the economy and the Tigers getting beat in the regionals.

Sounds to me like you're kinda wanting LSU to lose just to get rid of Miles.

This is an interesting first game------ I feel we win this one. The team---the coaching staff----have been hearing how terrible they are.

No Talent----Underachievers----Can’t develop players-----Worst Offense-----Horrible O-line----and the list goes on.

They have been targeting this game all offseason; as well as UNC.

But it just feels like this will be a VENT GAME for the whole team/ coaching staff.

If they start fast its allover!

OP, What will you be saying IF/WHEN LSU puts a prison pounding on UNC? Is anyone going to get off Miles back? I doubt it.

We all know the proble with LSU is we can compete and win every game on the schedule with the talent we have. No one knows what this season will bring but starting out with some confidence in the opener sure would help.
