I just picked the game up. Let's do this.
Your scenario is bullshite. OM has given a date for the announcement. It does not hurt lsu to wait one more week. May even be a moot point if they already have him locked up. This is solely to try and get your team past the egg bowl with a win and into the playoffs. Lane is gone come next Saturday. And its either LSU or Florida. LSU can wait another week for that.

would do just as well as Kiffin without being a drama queen.

This tells me you don't know jack shite about football or coaching.

re: So what is Kiffin waiting on?

He’s obviously staying

This is the most stupid-arse take I have seen yet. If he was staying they would have announced it. They are playoff bound with 1 more win. Do you really think Ole Miss would delay announcing Kiffin is staying to frick over LSU and Florida when it will actually do more damage to OM's football team? LSU and Florida can both wait 1 more week, OM's football team not knowing if their coach is staying or going is 100% going to impact the egg bowl. OM brass doesn't do that if he is staying. This take is absolutely garbage.

And I think it’s more likely that we are getting played. Maybe it started off differently but now with today’s “news” I think we are the patsy

I mean that just doesn't make any sense. If you look at it realistically there is 1 of 2 options going on here:

1. Kiffin doesn't know what he is doing yet but both him and OM's AD agree to a decision by next Saturday (this would be where someone is getting played but this is probably bullshite TBH)

2. Kiffin is leaving. He wants to finish what he started and OM wants to make the playoffs. So they push the announcement back so Kiffin can finish out the regular season, get OM to the playoffs and then ride off into the sunset.

There is no way this is a situation where he is staying and OM is drawing it out to try and frick with LSU and Florida. There is too much on the line for them. If he was staying they would have announced it to solely focus on this playoff run.

Shut up fig.

Define great. Because the highest ranked lineman is #51 in the SEC for sacks. Nationwide we are tied at #376

Bernard Gooden - 2.0 sacks (tied)
Dylan Carpenter - 2.0
Damien Shanklin - 2.0

Thats a bullshite metric for DT's. Look at what the DTs have done this year. Multiple goal line stops, penetration that leads to disruption. It's quite a bit different than last year. Some of that is probably talent, some of that is probably Williams. But to just go off sack #s for DTs is retarded.
I read this entire thread. I believe.
Was he successful at LSU? It does not matter one bit what he did before coming here. He has tanked this football team. If any of those coaches listed tanked their team like Kelly did, they would be fired and people would be pissed at the AD for the buyout lol.
No cause all those coaches actually lead a team successfully.
quote:

No. This is ABSOLUTELY not possible. Kelly could lose every single game left, by 40+ or more, and he wouldn't get fired. Not this year. And probably not next year either.

These posters you're referring to are just stupid, so you should probably discount anything they say.

Hahaha, it appears you are the stupid one and we should discount anything you say lmao

re: Saban to LSU?

I agree with everything you said. I mentioned in another post, I don't think he's coming back to coach at LSU. However, IF (big if) he genuinely misses coaching football and has a strong itch that needs scratched... it could happen. But he has nothing else to prove, like you said so I don't see him getting that itch.

My point whole point with Saban has been simple. Why would he leave a juggernaut that he built up to start over again? The same hurdles that made him leave are honestly probably worse now.

Great point. I think the only chance he would even entertain the idea is if he genuinely missed coaching college football to an insanely high degree. He's been out over a year, the only thing that would get him to come back is the itch. The man loved coaching football. I, personally, think he's done. There is nothing else for him to accomplish he has done it all, better than anyone. The only way he comes back is if that itch is bad enough it needs scratched. No one knows if that's the case except Saban himself.
By all means let's find another "proven" head coach like Kelly and pay him 100 million for 10 years. Cause that worked out so well for LSU...
quote:

There is a ton more that goes into a college HC, which is why the last 2 coaches we had were fired.

Umm, the last two coaches DIDNT coach football and that's why they were fired. You have Austin Thomas and a whole admin team to handle a lot of the backend work. Give Sheppard the reigns on the cheap, hire an elite OC and let them cook. LSU needs a head coach that can lock down and own one side of the ball. Im tired of this CEO shite, they can't fix problems when they arise.
Even though LSU was losing it was close games that went down to the end. Last night, at home, LSU got absolutely embarrassed. It was the final straw I think. Losing close games is one thing, getting absolutely blown out with no adjustments or answers is another.
