If Wade can go international for a big portion of his roster then why can’t Jay?

Not sure how all these wacky eligibility rules work but with countries like Venezuela, Japan, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic pumping talent into the MLB every year why not try and go plant some pipelines in foreign soil?

Jay should ditch recruiting some of these liberal soft west coast kids and go find the next Ohtani and put him in purple and gold for a year or 2.

We are paying these international players million(s) to come here

We cant out bid MLB teams or even top overseas pro teams for top pro talent

There isnt anywhere close to the money in baseball that there is in basketball NIL wise.

We will probably spend 2x-3x on 1 player for basketball than the entire baseball roster is getting.

A lot of Latin American players are enrolled in MLB baseball academies. Unlikely that we'll find elite players the MLB scouts missed, unless we specifically look for plate discipline.

You should probably watch the documentary Ballplayer Pelotero. NIL can’t touch what’s those Dominicans & Venezuelans are getting at 16 from MLB.

The top handful.

The vast majority get less than $250K. And there are a ton of guys that sign for $10K. It's a volume play there as those players don't count toward the minor league numbers cap.

Because 90 percent of international players never pan out. At least that's the case in basketball.

I'm almost certain that we were looking at a Japanese player in recent years.

You started off well, but then you shite the bed.

Yes, we should recruit internationally…IN ADDITION to recruiting talent everywhere in the US.

If you’re trying to cut out “soft west coast kids”, then please identify criteria used to identify softness. What’s the most reliable way to identify and quantify it? You don’t have an answer do you?
