He’s rallying money to pay for a lot of things.

If I had money to pa for McMahon buyout it’s give it to football and a little to baseball

If they don't fire MM, it's because they are following a financial plan. That's a good thing.

People want to ignore the money.

But, things are more complicated than "the coach is bad" therefore "hire a new one".

Verge is nothing more than a "yes man". He has no real autonomy. You don't fire the AD only to hire his 2nd in command unless you know the 2nd in command will simply rubber stamp what you want. I don't think people realize how meddlesome the political climate is at LSU. If you don't do what the political power wants, they will quickly push you out and bring in someone who will.

Once again, he can only do what he is allowed to do. He cannot fire McMahon without BOS approval. Just like Woodward could not fire Wade or Kelly without BOS approval.

If the BOS does not want to fire McMahon for whatever reason, Verge, or anyone else, except possibly Rousse or Landry, will probably not be able to talk them into it. Most of those guys are not oblivious to the plight of MBB, and those that are do not care one way or the other about it. What that will equate to is they have already decided to fire based on either the state of the basketball program basketball or not fire him for purely monetary reasons. None of that is on Verge.

The BOS is puppets of Landry as is Rousse and reportedly the initial friction with Woodward was over not firing McMahon and replacing him with Wade last offseason.

Basketball income is primarily due to TV revenue that is shared equally between SEC schools, so local attendance is probably not a major factor in their accounting.

The TV contract is the primary source of the income but ticket sales plus money from people coming to games ain't nothing. Especially when it's 6000 season ticket holders and 8000 in the stands vs 2000 season tickets and 1800 in the stands 18-20 times.

but this situation is not something he got LSU into, nor are the bad contracts he is saddled with.

Agree but Woodward isn't gonna be back to handle it. It's his job now.

this is the right logic. I don’t see how any fans can disagree with this

How does he fix it if the BOS tells him to keep McMahon?

I know it isn't popular here but yes, I legitimately will look at it as a strike. And every other fan should look at it the same.

LSU Basketball isn't just completely dead. It's like... negative dead. It's damaged into the red. Allowing a guy who has a 17-55 SEC record over 4 years to stay on will put it in an even deeper hole.

It's his job to deliver the termination notice, but only if approved by the BOS.

No LSU employee who makes more than $250K can be terminated unless approved by the board of supervisors.

How is it that you don't understand this after it has been repeatedly mentioned?

McMahon, Shaver, Torina, and the volleyball coach need to be fired today. Verge is too willing to tolerate mediocrity and this trend needs to stop.

Are you retarded?? He’s been in the job for less than six months

McMahon won't sail off into retirement with a ruined reputation like Kelly. He would be scooped up for mid-major job next year. If he really wanted to he probably could get involved in the UNC Greensboro opening right now.

It is strike one until Kiffin makes it to the playoff next year and you realize that Vergil gets 20 strikes now.

Would be great but UNC Greensboro probably has standards and probably feel they could do better

Joe is still a scarlet capital B for getting cucked into hiring Johnny, all the O hiring debacle and Wade stuff. But at least O vindicated him after his departure.

Woodward paid Mulkey and nailed Jay but BK turned out to be a whiff after a bright start and McMahon has been a disaster in the money sports.
