If the players are risking their health, they need to be paid.

You can’t ask these young men to go out and risk their lives to play football this season without monetary compensation. I’m not saying pay them every year, but the school needs to pay them this year for putting their lives on the line. It’s already a dangerous game—and this virus makes it 1000x more deadly. I’m thinking pay per game like in the NFL because we still don’t know how many games will be played.

I don't think schools should be giving them salaries, but I don't see an argument for why a player can't do an advertising deal or make money off of his likeness on his own accord.

I’m thinking it closes cans of worms. If they are employees of the school, sign wavers and are compensated, there will be certain protections if they get sick.

Nope that’s not how that works once attorneys look at it that we paid them to risk themselves for the first time ever admitting there was a risk

They risk more health by playing the game than the damn virus. Virus has frick all to do with a 20 yo in the best shape of their life. 9 times out of 10 they don’t even know they had it. Stfu dude.

Players have a higher chance of dying in a car crash driving to practice.

Then I should get hazard pay every day I go to work right?

What are they risking? This is essentially the flu for people their age. It's only worse for older people.

You can say that about a lot of jobs where people would do them from free, doesn't mean they shouldn't be paid.
