Really, you really don’t see an argument or any problem with this? Guess we’re going back to the SMU days

And let's put this into comparison with
an apparently acceptable number of deaths which the American Public has been brainwashed into just accepting.

In 2017 the the number of Abortions in the USA was 862,217. That is 862,217
Unborn Children murdered by the same Medical Community which is alarmed by the Covid numbers.

How can any objective person argue against this? Seriously.

The fans are risking their health, too. Should they be paid?

Too expensive?
It may be time to cancel all organized sports in HS.
Its a symbol of our past and needs to be erased from the pages of history. Too many young people getting injured.
Covid, gives us that opportunity.

They're safer at school and playing football than they are at home.

Should parents who aren't able to get their young adults out of the house, have to pay the them? They're at greater risk than those who get out.

They aren’t forced to play they have the option to not play if they don’t.

I am pro letting the players make money but I don’t think that has to come from the schools. NIL will hopefully stop this debate.

You do realize if these guys don’t play football they will still be at risk for the virus? 18-22 year old boys aren’t going to lock themselves in a dorm for 8 months. Covid happens whether football does or not.

The players need to be paid regardless. When there is so much money made on their backs by athletic departments, coaches, administrators and the NCAA, they are being exploited, IMO! The educational scholarship is not sufficient recompense for a number of reasons. Hopefully, this Covid pandemic will push them to form a players association.

What's next? Schools trading players with each other? Benefit negotiations? Attorneys everywhere, lawsuits, etc., etc. You do that BS and it will ruin the game. Now, if you consider paying all athletes a certain stipend each year based on the athlete's FINISHING the season in each sport, that could be reasonably discussed.

Exactly. The program brings in $175-$200 Million/year. What’s more important to the program than the players? Don’t you pay the employees that are important to your business? Make no mistake, it’s business. You could pay each player $100k/season and only use up 5% of the budget.

People the total cost of attendance already gives each player somewhere between $800 to $1,000 per month. So the stipend that has been mentioned in this thread is already being given.

In addition to a free education and free food (chefs prepare whatever the players want). Then they live in nice apartments, don't pay for books, don't pay for computers, receive free Medical care, and all of them have cars(you know it). So stop acting like these guys are deprived. They aren't.

Tax payers/students have been paying for athletics for decades.
I wish students would rebel and bring suite to stop this socialist program of being forced to support activities of which they disagree..

They already are paid. Scholarship, best food on the campus by far, best medical care on the campus by far, no shortage of adoring ladies, and a 'job' that is a showcase, if you're good enough, for the professional league where you can make more in one contract that most of your fellow LSU students make in a lifetime.

So tired of this 'unpaid labor' dumbasses in the media like Andthevalleyshook and this OP keep pushing. Telling the lie over and over again thinking if they tell it enough we'll all accept it.

For the flu with a mortality rate of 1-2%
BTW, they have "free" medical care, professional dietitians, personal trainers, state-of-the-art facilities. Pretty sure they are't paying fees for that.

You are weak sauce.
