They're risking their orthopedic health, but not catching the virus. The most likely place to catch the virus in your own home or someone else's.

A lot of players come from homes where they're getting pell grants, if you add on academic scholarship, the meal plans, and priority scheduling these kids have it pretty good. They can even opt out of this year and keep their scholarship.

I've coached kids that had pell grants, tops, and full ride for athletics and they had plenty of $$.

Okay Ken

FYI: They are getting paid and at places like LSU they are getting paid very well.....

They’re paid in free housing, free books, free tuition, free food, and free medical care. Many are given free modes of transportation as well. Their compensation includes the 3 largest expenses for most people. GTFO with this “they aren’t getting paid enough” schtick! 99% of people would trade places with them in a heartbeat. FBS college football players, especially starters at major P5 universities are among the most privileged people on earth, and aren’t victims in any sense.

People like you are just as big of a problem as the ones on CNN who think this is the worst thing ever.
if you're good with CNN's one-sided reporting then you are part of the f****** problem.

By the way I do want Fox news but at least they got assholes on there that I can't completely stand and I hear both sides

Pay the players, but also make them pay tuition, room and board like the rest of us did.

Absolutely. It’s one of the other.

Why don't we compare young men who get a football scholarship at any college, with young men who don't.
Are the players at Southeastern getting compensated?
If not why are they playing. Somebody is paying and the players is getting benefits.
Playing sports is an opportunity to get and education and have a life of luxury. If the player takes advantage.

They're not going to be given a salary, but it's past time for some middle ground to be reached.

Yeah, especially with my daughter out there driving. She can't stay off the curb and has lost more rims than a cadillac at a drake concert.

Because then Maryland and Oregon will have better tactics to get kids to go there. See where I’m going with that. Hey come to our school and under armor or Nike or bobs used cars will give you 500,000 to advertise their product.

You can’t ask these young men to go out and risk their lives to play football this season without monetary compensation.

What about the benefits that are easily calculated such as the scholarship, room and board, and health care. Four years is easily worth $100,000. Doesn't include intangible benefits, such as networking opportunities, life experience, friendships, etc.

Every college football player in America is on his campus voluntarily. All the players knew the pay scale when they signed up. If they feel like the Covid risk is too great, they can redshirt, or they can go home.
