If the LSU teams of 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2019 played each other in a playoff, who wins?

2003 and 2011 defenses were elite, but 2019 and 2007 offenses could score on anyone.

I think my money would be on these boys playing Monday night

The 2003 and 2011 defense could get pressure with 4 on this offense, but I still think with burrow back there this team beats any of them.

Depends on who’s coaching. If it’s the coaches at the time they played, 2007 and 11 would be eliminated. I’d pay money to see this offense play 11’s defense. Those dbs against these receivers. But I’ll go with this team

At this point in the season, you guys should know that this our the best team in lsu history.

To put it in perspective, if we beat Clemson by even a decent margin, 18+, then this is the best team in the history of cfb.

Offense has come a long way in 16 years, and LSU’s is significantly better than than average for this year, so the 2003 would be shell shocked. But they would get after Burrow and make it interesting.

I agree. That 03 dline was awesome. So many pros, but that 11 defensive backfield is the best we’ve had.

I think people forget the 2007 team LOST 2 games they absolutely shouldn’t have. This 2019 team would run them out the stadium

2019 would win every single game. 03 would have the most sacks and highest scoring 4th Q. 07 would be a shoot out with Flynn throwing a pick to lose the game. 11 would be a war of attrition with the defense ultimately wearing out.

Who's playing QB for 2011? If Lee then I put 2019 slightly ahead of 2011 with 2003 and then 2007 after that. With JJ then 2019, 2003, 2011, 2007.

This 2019 team has a chance to really widen that gap between them and 2011 on monday night though. Defense needs to show out

I’m gonna answer this around 11:00 pm Monday night.

Although I think this team is legendary in every respect, I think this opponent is equally as daunting. Even more so than the “2 Apple Bites” Bama team of 2011/12.

That’s the bigger question.and subplot by my way of thinking: “had this coaching staff been coaching vs Les Mikes in 2011/12, would the outcome been different”!!!

I think 2011’s defense would fair the best in terms of playing 2019’s offense. They have the athletes to match up. However, I have doubt the 2011 offense could score points fast enough. The game has changed even since just 2011. 2003’s team would get blasted, honestly. The LBers wouldn’t be able to keep up.

This team hands down, they are the only undefeated team of those mentioned.. 2011 should have been and that team was all time great but had shaky QB and that’s the difference. 2019 LSU can score on anyone.

2019 Offense is the best we've ever seen. It's not even a question IMO.

2011 Defense is the best with a very close 2003.

I all honesty, it’s not fair to make these comparisons. The spread offense was in its infancy in 2003, there weren’t many QBs in 2007 that could run the RPO with a ton of success. 2011 is closest in terms of athletes on the field and style of offense. You still have guys from 2011 playing pro ball.

Would each team be able to play with the rules of their time period? The '03 rules for defenses were different than today's rules.

If the '19 defense would be able to play with '03 rules their stats would be much better.

2011 would have the best shot. But I think 2019 is the best we have had overall.
