Hell no...this is the college game not pros. College is about tradition. All the great college venues are preserved-the rose bowl, Notre Dame's stadium, the big house, the horseshoe, Memorial stadium, the los angelas collesium, and yes Tiger stadium. Tigerstadium has luxury boxes and room for more with expansion. New flashy stadiums are for the NFL.

Don't know if this has been asked in this long thread, but.... the east and west uppers are free-standing. I wonder if bowl and be replaced/upgraded somehow without replacing the newer sections? May be a little quicker to complete, perhaps?

Can't believe how many people are for this. Renovations are needed, but demolition? Never. The little sayings on the tickets from this year should tell you all you need to know about the university's view of the stadium.

I'm pretty sure it's code to have stairs, escalators and elevators in stadiums brah. You can think the ADA for that one.

Yeah, the Americans with Disabilities Act was pure shite. Who the frick wants to do anything to help others with a disability? It's damn socialism! It's just not the Christian-American way!

The "sound" of TS cannot be replicated unless you build it in portions as it was built in the first place so no on demolition

To me, it's about what happens on the field, I don't have a big issue with Tiger Stadium, I love it

Although it would be hard, if not logistically impossible to tear down the current stadium, I would like to see a retractable roof Texans type stadium, with a combination of Eagle's stadium seating style arrangement so that the seats have the appearance of being closer to the field. But, tampering with history is almost taboo, so in lieu of above, just put a south endzone cap/repleat with 3 levels of suites, with the intent of adding up to 12,000 faithful in a 80/20 split. The center (or suite exterior facade) facing the field would be a 200 X 75 LCD TV, the likes of which would be unseen in any athletic venue. The outside facing the PMAC would be a screen similar to the one at the new Dallas stadium (aka LSU's west home field) for the faithful without tics.

ETA: it's called ameliorative waste, an improvement to an estate that changes its character even if the change increases the land's value

Ameliorative Waste is not a high priority issue in the US . Improvements are thought to be the source for economic developments and betterment of life and hence they prefer that.

It is much stronger in England, Scotland and some places in the EU, where the historical places are entwined with the very culture and legacy of the land. There are landmarks and structures that are hundreds of years old and are a source of national pride (tourist dollars/Preservation Committees ensure that).

Tiger Stadium , whilst a landmark and historical structure, is also a place that has to be able to meet the task of being able to accommodate 100K people, arrivals, transport within, bathrooms, lounges etc....

If need be it should be considered collateral damage for the the development and furtherance of the LSU football program.

Haven't they only opened the roof there for a game like once or twice? Retractable roof stadiums are some of the most gimmicky architectural wastes ever.

This thread is retarded as well. Tiger Stadium is a perfect venue.

three times

first game against the G-Men, once for the eagles on MNF and again for the G-Men

mayb jerry will keep it closed the next time the G-Men come to town

but about TS.. you could spend 400-500 in renovations and have a start of the art stadium and it will be the best in the country, why spend a bill if you don't have too?

Renovations are great, but completely demolishing and rebuilding is just stupid, IMO. No value for history by some of you.

THIS! A lot of this banter is probably from kids who haven't even had hair around their cock for a good two to three decades yet.

but yes. as much as i love TS, it's is antiquated and outdated.

Ever heard of "Renovate and Update?" Everybody does it. Just takes a little longer here for some reason. There's nothing wrong with TS that can't be fixed.

BTW, It's antiquated and outdated because certain employees of the LSUAD have not done their jobs and allowed the structure to deteriorate. (Not Alleva) He should have cleaned house when he took over and removed the incompetents that sat on their arse and allowed it to happen. The former AD is also responsible for allowing it to degrade.
