If SEC goes with 8 SEC game schedule and 1 permanent rival, who would LSU get?

You would think the below would be no brainers:
Bama and Auburn
Ole Miss and MSU
UF and UGA
Texas and TAMU (I would assume this happens)
That leaves
LSU
Tenn
Ark
Missouri
Ok
Kentucky
Vandy
South Carolina
None of those except for I guess Ark has any kind of tradition and that was forced tradition at best.
ETA: maybe Texas and OK would actually be the no brainer and then we get TAMU which would be good imo.

Arkansas or maybe Florida.
Gotta be a school without another in state school.

Maybe Keep OK and Texas as a rival and we would get either A&M or Arky.
Id say LSU/A&M
Arky/Mizzou

There's no scenario where florida and georgia arent together.

Texas and Oklahoma would never be split up, but I wish we could swap out A&M with Texas. That could be a fun rivalry. Even with the 3 permanents which is more likely to happen, it appears we are getting A&M sadly.

too much money to be made not to go 9
if 8, it will likely end up being A&M if Texas keeps OU as permanent or OU if they want it to be Texas and A&M as rivals unless they go OU and Mizzou and give Ark to LSU

Give me the pigs over aggy. Stop trying to make them a “rival.” Is that who you really want to be tied to the hip to for the foreseeable future?

If actually say the Pigs have been a forced rival.

frick permanents. Dumbest thing we ever did. If you like your “rivalry game” schedule that team as an OOC game for the years they aren’t on your schedule.

Is this actually in play? I would absolutely hate staying with an 8 game SEC Schedule.

Perhaps. But they aren’t a homoerotic cult either. And they have legitimate championship banners in multiple sports (mostly track, granted)

Yeah, Arkansas probably, if not Florida.

The fact that you have a hatred for TAMU is confusing as to why you also don’t want them to be the permanent opponent.
TAMU makes sense for a lot of reasons.
1. Huge LSU Alumni base in general area (Houston)
2. Pretty cool destination campus
3. Should always have a good team
4. They are a hateable institution for LSU which is great for rivalry purposes.

We would get Aggie. I think they, and Texas, are sick of each other.

We would get either A&M or Tennessee-
Locks-
Bama/Auburn

Florida/UGA

A&M/Arkansas
SC/Kentucky
Vandy/Mizzou
LSU/Tennessee
