re: If Miles wins the last two, does he deserve at least one more year?

People really hold onto 2011 way too much when it is the outlier in the last 8 years.
This arse hole.
Bama, UF, tOSU, FSU and Auburn are the only teams to win a title since Les. I'll take the outlier because its better than 98% of college football.
Auburn and Bama are the only teams to win the sec since Les last won. Again I'll take that outlier, it's better than 86% of the conference.

Bull fricking shite... You need to change out your maxi pad.
Les has had holes in every team, even the vaunted 2011 team, since 2007. Either poor positional recruiting, lack of depth, etc. There are always excuses.
It was the same with people whining about losing a ton of players early to the draft. Yes, it was harsh and tough to deal with, but for example, when you recruit one freaking DL player in the 2012 recruiting class (before LSU lost most of our DL), then you wonder why LSU has no depth.
When you know you recruited a ton of LBers that are either no longer on the team or about to leave (like this year) and last year's class had a grand total of 0 LBers, 0 DTs. That is a poor job that is going to leave holes, especially when you are hit or miss at those positions so much.

Sure enough, the pumpers and apologists are out in force after taking Sunday to regroup.
"LOOK WHAT HE'S DONE IN THE PAST"
"WHO ELSE WE GONNA GET?"
"REMEMBER THE 90s"
"I'D RATHER MY COACH HAVE FAMILY VALUES THEN BE AN A-HOLE!!!"
Man, you guys are gonna be BUSY next week if we lose to Ole Miss.

So the SEC is the only place that counts, right?

Les has one, read that again, ONE divisional title in 8 years! 8 years! That is just bad for how much he is hyped. Les ruined the 2011 season despite the regular season success with the national title game. Is it fair? No, but it is how things work.
Again, I don't think Les is a bad coach. I think he's just done as being a great coach at LSU. Given his hiring of a failure of a DC (and of course everyone excuses it just like the Co-DC debacle of 2008), he is ultimately responsible. He has refused to change, and yet all his other competitors have. That is the issue.

He 100% stays here of course. This is a successful season record obviously. The Alabama losses before this season though were at least competitive; this last game had terrible coaching and no heart from anyone on the team. Losing two to an inferior Arkansas team twice is pathetic as well. Miles needs serious changes; they have become stale and predictable, more so than ever.

This team is incredibly young and will only get better
Same excuse has been used for half a decade. Time to find another one.

So he get's fired for going 9-2 during the year?

Yup. Next year, the excuse for the defense will be that the LBers are young and we don't have leadership like Mills at DB. The year after that when Godchaux and LaCouture leave, we'll here the same about DTs.
Next year we'll also be young at OT and Center (assuming we move Pocic to LT or RT).
Then the following year, we'll hear the same excuse, but when other teams succeed with youth in key positions consistently, they are anomalies.

Ummm.. if you haven't noticed, LSU hasn't had a complete team since Saban's recruits have left. Les is a very good recruiter as far as getting talent, but not as far as getting the complete team needed to win a title. Nearly every recruiting class he's gotten has had huge holes in it, so unless he's taking over a juggernaut that is already loaded, he's not getting them to a title.
He did that in 2011. He also had to recruit LA in its lowest point in recruiting.
Last qb to get drafted from LA. 2005. Where are the linebackers? The dts? The offensive linemen? Louisiana isn't producing them. We have one guy starting in dline from Louisiana. Our 2 best offensive linemen are from oos.
If Les wasn't such a good recruiter, this team would suck. You can not survive on LA talent alone.
Just go look at what he did in Boulder with Mcartney, he was able to pull black kids out of Cali to play in Boulder. A town that was less than 1% black.

I don't care what he did in his first 3 years with a ready made team. Coker won an NC and lost in OT of another in his first 2 years. What's your point?

Let's see. Bama has quite a few legit LA prospects that were happy to go there and have succeeded including many on the DL, OL, LBer.
QB is not an excuse. Saban and Miles won NCs with non-LA QBs, so what is your point?

Yes, that was all Les.

News flash, LSU plays in the sec. Why do I give a frick about other conferences? If you want to go down the route, Les is undefeated in OOC games.
You said outlier, I'd rather have an outlier than none at all, which is better than 98% of college football.

What happens when the magic coach you want that replaces Les loses to Saban too?

I called that in the in game thread. They saw the same thing we all did, complained like everyone else, but went back to their old ways. They only feel right saying everyone is wrong, he's the best coach in LSU history, look at the stats (except that the record keeps getting worse the past four years, maybe this one won't have as many losses as last year).
He is the best coach in LSU history. I agree with the pumpers on this. But, He just doesn't seem like he has it anymore. This team should at least win bowl games... they can't even do that anymore.

You mean like the people that have been fired from Ark, Ole Miss, State, Auburn, Fla, TN, etc etc etc since Les took over? those guys?

Yes, that was all Les. ? Ignore the fact that Les bolted before that kid even set foot on Boulder's campus and their best recruiting classes came after Les was gone. ?
You mean after they started winning? You don't say. So did he or didn't help Mcartney build up that program? He did.

Yet, Auburn has accomplished what Les has in the last 8 years twice + more under two different coaches and while firing two of them.

Do you care that he has essentially the same resume from 2005-07 that he does from 2010-12?
