Jump would be on 4 days rest if we make the championship game.
He threw 104 pitches against UGA, so no we won't see either pitch until regional play.

He's going to throw long toss and 50 pitches on that day regardless, and 25 of those 50 are going to be game like pitches.

I do'nt see the big deal if he comes in and pitches 30-40 pitches, if needed, and Holman starts on Friday for the Regional. Jump would have 5 full days of rest, or 6 depending on regional schedule after throwing basically a bullpen.

Why is that such a big deal?

No shot. They won't pitch again until next weekend.

consider it in Omaha? Idiot. It is a guarantee if you go far enough that a pitcher will start again on as little as 3 days rest.

Let them have the rest. Give the other guys the work and see he floats to the top.

Jump could be available as a Bullpen day on Sunday. Maybe for 30ish game pitches? I wouldn't push it past that though.

But if we win the tournament will we host?

I see what you did there.....

It’s not. Some people can’t wrap their heads around this concept. A start doesn’t mean he’s throwing 90-110 pitches. The rest of the staff needs work and it may be favorable to let Jump and/or Holman get their pitches in during a game rather than a bullpen session.

Couldn’t ask for a better scenario to be in right now. Zero pressure.

No need at this point. I doubt there's any way we host. No difference in a 2 or 3 seed. We are in, that's all that matters.

the announcers would destroy Jay if he brought those two guys back in this tourney you've accomplished what you needed to do, playing with house money now the only thing left would be possibly doing enough to warrant a 2 seed but that would mean probably winning the tourney

frick the announcers. Jay Johnson has more baseball knowledge in his pinky toe than these announcers!

Man you are truly going after worst poster on this board. That’s a tough get, but you’re off to a tremendous start. Your ability to post idiotic takes at a high volume is impressive.

We are not going to host regardless. If we had lost to UGA we would not have made the tournament. You don’t go from out to top 16.

did you think Skenes should’ve have started against Tulane?

No, he shouldn’t have, though it worked out because of the weather

Dude. You haven't had any of the "good stuff" lately? Absolutely no need to be such a dick.

Nope. Time to find how deep the bullpen is.

You made regional. Who can step up and help the time in a bind. That is what you are looking for pitching wise.

Playing Tues, Weds, Thurs and, with a loss Thurs, play again Friday. Got to win Thursday to get day off Friday, This is brutal on pitching staff.

If we keep hitting like we are, it won’t matter who’s on the mound. Just keep hitting, boys.

I don't know how you get away with as many ad hominems as you do. When I see someone say something or ask something that makes it seem like they might not know what they're talking about, I assume that is probably true of them, and proceed to explain to them what they don't know. If someone isn't being ugly to you, there's no reason to be ugly to them.

Maybe a bullpen session if we make it to the championship game, let them both throw. 30-40 pitches then pull em

If a one inning save would win the tournament you could see Jump on four days rest. That would allow him four (maybe five) days rest before regionals and could line up as a regular bullpen session. That’s the only way. CJJ is not going to mess with the best schedule for Jump and Holman.

And I promise you that if we are hanging on to a close lead on Sunday most of the knuckleheads who are telling you “0% chance” will see the logic above and they’ll be clamoring for Jump.
